I haven't posted much here but read almost daily and felt *so lost* when it no longer existed, so I agree with this post very much.Pondering Her Percy wrote:Glad we're up and running again. Thanks cliff for getting it going again

I never got into Usenet, but I started my "online" reading/posting on BBS (Bulletin Board System) because my office was looking to start one and needed me to be the SysOp, so I had to learn all about them. (I was working for Civil Service).Mothman wrote: LOL! It just doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

Wow, I finally can log in.

Thank you, Dirtyswabby. No one is beyond redemption -- Peterson included. And I wish that Adrian learns the lesson he needs to learn. His young son still needs a daddy... Hope A.P. becomes a better and more enlightened one.Dirtyswabby wrote:Thank God the forums are back! im not a huge poster here, but I love reading everything people have to say. That being said, I believe what Adrian did was over the line, but I do not believe he is beyond redemption. I believe the same thing for Ray Rice. Peterson has been open and honest about this from the beginning, and even stated in text messages he felt bad. I think the league should suspend him for the year, make him go through counseling training and whatever is involved, and allow him to redeem himself next year. Nobody should have their entire life stripped away from a mistake, albeit a very very disturbing mistake.
I felt really bad for Ray Rices wife when she was basically begging for people to stop coming after them, in all honesty him being cut and effectively banned from the NFL not only hurt him but hurt his wife and kids too. In fact they are probably going to be the ones to suffer the most in all of this. I think they should have suspended him with the opportunity to come back in the future as long as he got treatment for his issues.

You don't cry in the beer...you drink it, order more, and cry in the empty cups. Our situation is too sad to dilute beer.daff wrote:
Thanks, I'll try to be more visible.
On that note - this season has been tough. I was more excited for this year than than for the last several. Came up from MO to see training camp and my first game in MN after being a fan for 20+ years. Followed that with preseason in KC and opener in STL (awesome), and I got great tickets to come back up and see us vs. ATL....and then all of this stuff happens. Now I feel lost and deflated, possibly worse than the last few NFC championship game losses... anyone going to that game want to buy me a beer to cry in?

You, 808Vikingsfan and any other returning fans whose accounts were deleted will just need to use your newfound status as waterboys as incentive to post and move back up the "depth chart". Sorry, I wish we could do more.

Glad the board is back and running! Here's to brighter times

Re: Weeeeeerrrreeeee Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!
I recall seeing an activation message for your username, which typically only comes when someone signs up for a new account. Probably somewhere between the board getting removed and reinstated something bugged. We mods can't do anything, we were locked out just like everyone else.808vikingsfan wrote:Ouch. 1 post. Ahhh the Usenet! When "He-who-must-not-be-named" meant someone other than Ponder.Mothman wrote: LOL! It just doesn't seem like it was that long ago.

I remember on some boards that mods/admins could manually set the user's post qty. Is Cliff able to do that somehow? I would be really upset if my 14,000 posts were deleted because of a temper tantrum.S197 wrote: I recall seeing an activation message for your username, which typically only comes when someone signs up for a new account. The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Cliff might be able to do that but I don't think we mods have access to that kind of thing. We can't change user names either.PurpleMustReign wrote: I remember on some boards that mods/admins could manually set the user's post qty. Is Cliff able to do that somehow? i'm glad to be back on here as well. with that said, i really think we are in trouble especially with our schedule. when you pile no ap on top of that i can't see how the results will be good. i just hope they don't throw bridgewater in too early and ruin him.
