Re: Patriots @ Vikings Predictions (Week 2)
Brady is nothing like the Tom Brady of 3 years ago. He no longer has the kind of mobility or weapons that helped him score all most at will in years past but.......he is still Tom Brady as compare to the no name backs ups we faced last week. The Pats are certainly going to score more than 6 points but I believe its going to be very close. It would not surprise me at all if the outcome was decided on the final possession with a field goal making the difference.
Pats don't lose 2 in a row and win this one 23 - 20

Re: Patriots @ Vikings Predictions (Week 2)
I see another easy win in the Vikings favor. Something like 38-27 sounds about right to me but we'll see. This is basically a matchup of talent (AD, Patterson, Smith, Rhodes, etc to name a few) vs perhaps a more fundamentally sound team. That's worked in the past for NE because Tom Brady could make up for the lack of talent around him but I think this is really the end of the patriot dynasty.
The Dolphins literally had their way with them on the ground rushing for almost 200 yards with guys like Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller. At some point you need stars in this league, that's why they could never beat the Ravens or Broncos in the playoffs lately.
Offensively I think they can still get it done / stay in the top 10, but defensively they're going to be pretty bad and that makes this a good matchup for us. Matt Cassel isn't elite, but this is the type of defense he can handle and with Adrian we can keep drives going and keep Brady off the field while putting up points. We could maybe lose a shootout but I see us staying in control and coming away 2-0.

Re: Patriots @ Vikings Predictions (Week 2)
We'll see. They were a 12 win team last year and lost in the conference championship so that seems like a premature assessment after one loss to a division rival. However, their long run of success will come to an end at some point so perhaps this is the year. Just remember, they've had rough starts before and bounced back. In 2004, they were blown out 31-0 by Buffalo in the season opener! They ended up going 14-2 and winning the Super Bowl.mondry wrote:I see another easy win in the Vikings favor. The good news is that even though they rack up a lot of seasons with double digit wins, over the last 5 years they've had a definite tendency to drop a game or two in September so hopefully, the Vikes will make this year's start a little rougher for them.

He's not an expert, but Michael Wilbon picked the Vikings Tuesday on PTI.Mothman wrote:Only 1 of 9 experts at CBS picked the Vikings to win. Only two picked them against the spread (which is MIN +3.5).

I actually think they may have issues on offense, as well. They inexplicably trade Logan Mankins for a tight end nobody's heard of, and all of a sudden, Tom Brady can't stay upright. (Boy, does that trade have the unmistakable odor of Josh McDaniels on it.)mondry wrote:I see another easy win in the Vikings favor. Something like 38-27 sounds about right to me but we'll see. There's a good chance their protection woes will continue this week. Our D-line is talented, motivated, and well-coached.

Damn, i love the optimism.
I'm afraid to predict a win, but I'm all in with Zimmer.
All I can remember is stubborn Childress refusing to come out of the single high safety defense and Brady having a field day and all the commentators laughing at us and our ridiculous defensive non-adjustments.
I say AD has a great day. defense gets another 5 sacks. No picks but they tackle very well and keep the YAC yardage to a minimum. We control the clock and keep Brady off the field for one less series.
Vikes 27 Pats 24
Game turns on a special teams play.

Peterson runs for over 150. Cassel is inconsistent, but avoids the huge mistake. Vikings defense grits its way to some crucial stops in the 2nd half and the Vikes win on a 46 yard field goal from Blair bear.

This is a must win game.
