the redskins will do well to keep cousins. I feel that RG3 will wash out of the nfl soon. I think he got hurt worse than any of us know. He doesn't look good on that knee and has not played well this preseason. We will see him play just like last year. He will never be a pocket passer . we're starting to see all over the nfl that this " Athletic QB" isn't panning out in the NFL

Really? Cousins has looked pathetic when it's mattered. I don't think either is a decade franchise QB. But Cousins is a Matt Flynn type. RGIII could play for a few solid years with injuries and inconsistencies thrown in.the redskins will do well to keep cousins. I feel that RG3 will wash out of the nfl soon.

That would be interesting If we traded Ponder to the Rams to then face him week one.

Carolina might be an option as well and package Simpson in the deal ....
They need wide outs and a back up QB i think

Besides that, Ponder would/could hand them over (verbally) the entire play bookMothman wrote: Actually, Ponder might be worth a fifth to a team in the Rams situation. If I were their GM, I'd certainly consider that price. Ponder is still a young QB, entering just his 4th season, and he's had some success. With a change of scenery and good coaching, he might surprise.
Ponder should really be looking at this week's game as a big opportunity. I'm assuming he'll play and if he plays well, and reminds the Rams that he can be a good QB when he plays smart, the Vikes just might get a call from St. Louis...

I guess I will ask yet one more time, is there any chance that you might consider not commenting on my postsFunkytown wrote: Pffft. Like he even knows it.

Nope. Thanks for asking. If you post, you're fair game, just as we all are.Purple bruise wrote: I guess I will ask yet one more time, is there any chance that you might consider not commenting on my posts
Sorry you feel victimized by my one response every few months. Yikes. Besides, it was a joke. Learn about it.

Zimmer on what he wants to see from Ponder: `Just have the poise, when he's getting rushed, to make the right throws'
http://blog.startribune.com/sports/access-vikingsAt this point, it appears Ponder will make the final roster and serve as an insurance policy against an injury. Those who don’t like that idea probably would feel differently if Cassel was injured in the first quarter at St. Louis and the Vikings had to play ¾ of that game with just Bridgewater and the next 15 with Bridgewater and some young street free agent who hasn’t been practicing Turner’s offense since March.

Makes sense to me...dead_poet wrote:Zimmer on what he wants to see from Ponder: `Just have the poise, when he's getting rushed, to make the right throws'
I hope Ponder has a great game on Thursday and if they need him to play this year, hopefully, he'll deliver for them.
Re: Vikings' Christian Ponder open to trade, but maximizing
Have they said if Teddy or Ponder is starting tomorrow? I always thought Ponder got a bad break here. I think with good talent around him he could be a pretty good QB. CP7 to CP84 you know...

Bridgewater will start, Ponder will play. My guess is Bridgewater takes two or three series, breaks a sweat and Ponder plays the rest. Ponder has every incentive to play well, since this is probably the last tape anyone will have on him until he's Tony Romo's backup next year. Yep, that's my guess, Ponder returns home to Texas next year.

I love that viewpoint so much. The same people questioning why we bother with Ponder would be the same people crying if Cassel got hurt.dead_poet wrote:Zimmer on what he wants to see from Ponder: `Just have the poise, when he's getting rushed, to make the right throws'
