Teddy will be starting on day one imo.

I expect a great game on Sat.

Teddy is the best QB on this team.

Matt is a backup QB.

I'm not even trying to be funny, but I swear this is another time where we can say, "they said the same thing about Ponder."

I haven't seen enough of Teddy to come to a definitive conclusion on who he might remind me of most.

True. However, Ponder never impressed enough in college to have people say "Capitulate for Christian" (Tank for Teddy). Now, none of that matters even a little once both players are in the NFL, but it is indicative of their (perceived) relative worth coming into the draft. Bridgewater may be the next Joe Montana (or he may be Ponder 2.0 - Let's hope not, though!), but after only playing a part of one game, I can honestly say I've seen Brett Favre play a worse game. The sample size (less than 1 game) is just too small. (I'd say the same thing if Bridgewater had went 10 for 10, 120 yards and a TD. The great game would give me some encouragement, but it would not be definitive - which I think is the point you were making.

Thank you; just a hunch.

Imo, winning cures all; Teddy was a winner in college. Look at A. Luck, only a 81 RAT and 57 career cmp%; nobody knocks him, cause he is on a winning team. RG3 is heavily criticized, but he has a 91 RAT and a 62 CMP%, overall better QB atm, but his team was in the lottery last year.

If Ponder managed to take us to the playoffs (Mostly AP tho); things are looking up for Teddy imo. He also has a beastly RB.

“Obviously we don’t want to throw interceptions in the red zone,” Zimmer said, via Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. “That’s one of our core goals. But it happens. You know, like the DBs, I would always tell them that sometimes you’ve got to get beat in practice to find out how tight you can play them. If you never get beat in practice, you’re probably playing too far off of a guy. If you’re going to get beat, let’s get beat in practice. Let’s learn from what we do out here. And I think that is for everything position. This is where we learn.”

Coupled with a 6-of-13 passing night in the preseason game, Bridgewater’s had better weeks. But his coach said he’s not worried about confidence.

“His confidence is not shaken,” Zimmer said. “He’s fine.”

We've barely seen him play so why not aim high? ;)

Honestly, he doesn't remind me of anyone else at this point. To me, he's just Teddy Bridgewater, the player I hope becomes a terrific QB for the Vikes. I can't even think of a good comparison.

Does he remind you of any particular player?
He doesn't really remind me of anybody, and that's why I posed the question. The best example I can think of would be Donovan McNabb. Obviously McNabb had a much thicker body, but both QBs scrambled to buy time behind the line of scrimmage and both caught unnecessary criticism during the draft.

I don't see Mcnabb at all, other than they're both black. Teddy comes off to me as a guy who will beat you with his brain more than his physical tools and that's basically the opposite of mcnabb to me.

Personally I see some Drew Brees and if Teddy pans out it'll probably be for similar reasons to Brees. Both aren't physical specimens by any means but yet they complete a high % of passess and TD to INT ratio is very good. Going off of Teddy's college stats of course.

People forget that McNabb was a VERY good QB in Philadelphia. Towards the end of his career, he got complacent and arrogant. Be he did an awful lot of good things with minimal weapons in the early part of the last decade. Brees also doesn't have near the mobility that Teddy has. The mobility factor is basically why I drew this comparison.

You mean the coach not saying anything that would cause Teddy's confidence to flag? Think of all the things that were said leading up to the first game. It was all glowing and positive too, wasn't it? They are not going to say anything to cause him to doubt himself, not now and maybe not even three years from now if P***** is any indication. I didn't even believe all the positive things they were saying, it all just sounds good. The coach has to say it, the press wants to print it, people want to read it, and fragile egos need to believe it.

You question that, but not that Washington was "in the lottery"?
