teddy and dropped balls
look: his first pass was for over 20 yards and got negated, and then he had at LEAST 3 dropped balls that should have been caught. give him some time for god sake. comparing him to ponder is a joke, get serious.
Re: teddy and dropped balls
I don't think anybody is saying Teddy is destined to have a career like Ponder. He has more fluid mobility, seems to have a better arm, and throws really well on the run. That said, RIGHT NOW he isn't an immediate upgrade. He needs time to develop and rushing him in could be detrimental.
Re: teddy and dropped balls

He looked like Ponder. Quick to react to pressure and try to use his legs. Doesn't set when he was on roll outs, just torqued his whole upper body. Play action looks horrible. Questionable awareness in the pocket. And no touch on the ball. He has a guy coming open crossing the field and rifles it into his face mask. Something you saw all the time from the last two QBs we drafted that got an extensive look. I had high hopes, and thought he was going to be better coming in then he looked. But whatever. Where are the pom-poms.

Hey chill out man, I know he didn't light it up, but Aaron Rodgers looked terrible his first 3 preseasons, give him time, he definitely will be our franchise QB.Demi wrote:![]()

Ponder will be gone like TJ and Teddy will be the new cancerous turd....watch and see

He'll be the next hero of the franchise that just needs a few more starts and he'll "get it", more likely...

Re: teddy and dropped balls
And here I thought his play action looked pretty good. I'll admit, I thought it was about the only thing that looked pretty good, but I thought he sold it pretty well, and had the defense moving. I guess I'll have to watch it again.Demi wrote:![]()

No you had it right the first time. I thought his play action looked quite good, better than anyone who has been on this team in a long time.Thaumaturgist wrote: And here I thought his play action looked pretty good. Re: teddy and dropped balls
Demi I think you are an excellent, and realistic poster but are you really already to jump ship on Bridgewater after one preseason game?Demi wrote:He'll be the next hero of the franchise that just needs a few more starts and he'll "get it", more likely...
Re: teddy and dropped balls
I think Teddy will be our future, but i think he needs at least a half a season; if not a whole year to
learn.
learn.

Re: teddy and dropped balls
One preseason game and people are already saying he's doomed to play QB in this league.

Re: teddy and dropped balls
Wow, I thought Teddy looked rough...but Demi just took it to a whole new level. That's just absolute pessimism to condemn him after one half of preseason football.
Re: teddy and dropped balls
Oh don't mind Demi. He can't be just partly negative about something,l its just the nature of his beast.

Re: teddy and dropped balls
Teddy did well. He did not look to rattled out there. Cassell has the lead in starting QB role but I was impressed with Teddy out there on the field.
Re: teddy and dropped balls
I know I just accused Demi of jumping the gun, and I could be accused of doing the same thing with what I'm about to say, but I think Bridgewater should ride the bench at least for the first 6 games. He needs to add a bit of muscle and just absorb the NFL game, and I wouldn't mind seeing him take a year to be coached up. Let the rest of the offense learn Norv's system and get comfortable. Let Teddy work in himself. Then we can talk about building something great.
