God, lets hope so. Hes been ok at times, and some Vikings are excited about that. And I do mean a few times. Smith needs someone other then Sanford back there so he can make some more impressive plays and not worry about what/where the other safety is.80 PurplePride 84 wrote: I think he's a long shot to even make the team at this point.

Speed is good, but here's some food for thought:Mothman wrote: That's a race I'd like to see.
40 Yard Dash times:
Randy Moss - 4.25
Adrian Peterson - 4.40
Bo Jackson (fastest recorded in NFL) - 4.12
Michael Bennet (remember him? Not bad, but not a 'great' back) - 4.13 (His "pro day" was a 4.28 - I believe the 4.13 was when he was running track in college)
So while I like the optimism that comes with his speed, I'm only 'cautiously optimistic' he'll turn into a starter. (OTOH - Peterson gave him some compliments, so what do I know?

@Vikings: The Vikings have activated Captain Munnerlyn from the PUP list.

Sounds like Charlie Johnson will be a starter again.
@mattvensel One takeaway from Norv Turner's press conference just now is that he has a lot of confidence in the team's starting five linemen from 2013.
Turner: Of any position on offense. reps are most important for offensive line to establish continuity.
Turner: Colter has a lot to learn about playing receiver, but if he doesn't make it, it's not for lack of effort.
Turner: We''re working to find Rudolph's backup. Praised Ellison's start, said AC Leonard "has a lot of ground to cover" in a NFL offense

Looks like Robert Blanton is in shorts. Would mean he's not practicing. #Vikings
Meanwhile, Cordarrelle Patterson (foot) is in full pads. #Vikings

Josh Robinson just left the field with a trainer. Could be a leg issue.

Now rookie tight end AC Leonard is walking off with a towel around his neck. Robinson came back, BTW.
Greenway/Brinkley/Barr at LB to start 11 vs. 11. Teddy is the first team QB to start.
Marcus Sherels getting first team looks at CB with Robinson and Munnerlym out.
And some razzle dazzle with double reverse to Cordarrelle Patterson in his first full team touch #Vikings
Cassel with the 2nd team in this 11 on 11 drill.
That was the first time we have seen Teddy with the ones in camp. Cassel in with the twos now, but the crowd is still buzzing here. #Vikings
Aaaaand Cassel back with the ones.
Raymond? Really?Risers on depth chart so far: Bridgewater, Raymond, Sherels, Barr. All it means is coaches want to see more.

Just saw Zimmer's one safety, three corner look on defense. #Vikings
Audie Cole is relaying play calls for 2nd team defense.
Barr/Sherels getting more looks on first team. Mistral Raymond replacing Blanton at first team safety. #Vikings
I counted 4 first team snaps with Bridgewater, 3 throws and the reverse to Patterson. #Vikings
Watts/Faciane/Stephen/Kendall James and Tiny Richardson also getting more looks on second team #Vikings

Hamstring injuries for Blanton and Robinson, Zimmer said. Blanton's sounds like the bigger concern. Blanton injured his hamstring in a blitz period on Monday night. Leonard has a headache.
Zimmer indicates that the Greenway at MIKE experiment is over. #Vikings
Zimmer said he needs to see other players at middle linebacker; won't be working Greenway there much from this point.
Chase Ford said cast came off on left foot Tuesday. In a walking boot now.Said everything is healing but didn't want to elaborate #Vikings

Zimmer on Josh Robinson leaving practice: "[Hamstring] got tight. It was preventative. I told [trainer Eric] Sugarman to take him out."
Andrew Sendejo could be back on Monday, per Zimmer. Would be the first time he's practiced in 2014.
