I'm not sure what being compulsive has to do with "having a high motor". The former is well defined, the latter is a vague term that certainly doesn't mean "compulsive". I don't see either one as being beneficial traits in an NFL QB.Slick Rick wrote: So having a high motor is a bad trait for QBs somehow? Gotcha. Mind explaining that?

Compulsion and "high-motor" are practically identical terms in the context they're being used. If you can't figure out why, then I'll simply rest my case.Webbfann wrote: I'm not sure what being compulsive has to do with "having a high motor". Some guys just aren't comfortable speaking in public. He's probably an introvert, and may be dealing with some depression. No way to be sure really, unfortunately there rarely is unless the person in question speaks up or does something that makes it obvious, and by then it's probably too late. Maybe he just needs a coach who's willing to be a father figure or something. Maybe a coach tried to be his father figure and he didn't respond in a way that he should, and if that's the case I'm not sure that you can really help the guy. I know a lot of introverts don't have a very good relationship with their parents, and that's often a big part of why they've learned to keep to themselves.fiestavike wrote:Freeman has more going on than ADHD. This video is really awkward and troubling to me. Its hard not to worry about Freeman after watching it.

Lol, I assure you, from someone prescribed to adderall, and less than a year removed from high school football, that Adderall will only improve his focus, and motor.Webbfann wrote: Oh excuse me. Compulsive sounds like a great quality for an NFL quarterback.
I had to fend off practically all if my teammates trying to get me to sell them my prescription, Addy is essentially a legal performance enhancer for those prescribed to it, to think that it would be detrimental to your in field performance shows that you clearly are not familiar with the drug, ot its effects.

The Vikings have claimed cornerback Julian Posey off waivers from Cleveland. They waived Kip Edwards.
Although Posey didn’t play much for the Browns, he uttered one of the most memorable quotes of the 2013 season while comparing himself to Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden.
“My style’s different,” Posey said. “It’s kind of like Kung Fu. He’s praying mantis. I may be crouching tiger.”

Slick Rick wrote: Oh, so you're saying that once the novelty has worn off that they may lose interest? Wow, that's exactly what I said in my first post! I'm glad we could agree on something. Considering that football is only going to be stimulating if you're actually interested in playing it, as is the case with anything, I don't think you can even conclude that football is "working" for him at this point. Maybe it got too easy for him. He was pretty dominant there for a few years, even looked like he had a shot at becoming one of the better QBs in the league. How do you explain no apparent loss in physical skills, and suddenly terrible accuracy? Anyways, this is all consistent with what I said. I didn't list his entire medical background and whatever symptoms he may have had because his doctor hasn't disclosed that information with me.![]()
The root of all ADHD symptoms is boredom/inattentiveness/focus related. It's just a simple fact my friend. Look it up anywhere, every symptom when you get right down to it leads back to the same thing, and that's why it's so easy to get medication for it whether you actually have it or not. That's what's wrong with psycho analysis, everything's related when you think hard enough. You're obviously into psych, so you should know all of that better than anyone. No one's saying Freeman can't pay attention. The point was that it could be a contributing factor.
I never once said it was "all about ADHD", and the fact that this is all speculation should be a pretty good indicator that I'm not actually saying that it's even for sure the root of the problem. With that said, I think it's pretty clear that it is part of the problem (please note the difference between saying that "it is" and saying that it appears to be that way, as I don't want to have to repeat this information again). Everything with him seems to be attention or disinterest related, both being very likely to stem from his ADHD. It certainly isn't talent related, and he hasn't really ever suffered an injury. It's a process of elimination, and since we don't know for sure there's no reason not to speculate.
Look, you obviously know a lot more than I do about psychology. Maybe you know things about ADHD that I don't, but I think the science itself is very inexact and based almost entirely off of observation and almost nothing tangible. I think you're creating this imagine in your head that I'm trying to say that Josh Freeman can't focus on football and that it could only possibly be due to ADHD. I'm going based entirely off of what is known to the public dude, like you said not a single one of us knows the guy personally, or at least I don't think they do. I thought that much was painfully obvious, and didn't require for me to spell it out. Sometimes you can just make an assessment with your intuition and roll with it. It doesn't have to be complicated. No one's EVER going to know the truth about whether or not Josh Freeman declined because of ADHD or not. Who cares.
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was pretty young, spent the better part of my childhood on Ritalin. With that said I played Baseball for 15 years, I loved baseball I couldn't get enough of it! I never got bored of the game or playing it. Each person with ADHD shows different signs, and symptoms. The only thing I ever got bored of was doing homework.

Dustin Keller is the most appealing on that list. Rudolph has had his share of time off the field and the drop off after him (Ellison, Reisner, Ford) is pretty steep. Even though Keller has injury issues he wouldn't be the #1 TE here and would add solid depth.Funkytown wrote:http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200000 ... -available

The little I have seen of Ford, he has excelled at everything he does. Even Carlson did Well (with Musgrave). I would love to see Chase Ford given a good hard look at for the #2. He is no Kyle and not even Carlson, but he can develop into a good TE I think.S197 wrote: Dustin Keller is the most appealing on that list. His sample size is really small so tough to say but I think his two biggest highlights were on blocks helping AD into the endzone (one where he carried him in). I don't really know what sort of money Keller is looking for, maybe that's why he's still available. I think Ford will certainly have the opportunity to compete but it's a position that could use some depth.PurpleKoolaid wrote: The little I have seen of Ford, he has excelled at everything he does. Am I the only one that prefers Ellison?

No, I prefer him too, at least based on what I've seen of the two players.dead_poet wrote:Am I the only one that prefers Ellison?

Some good things are being said about Leonard, and like I said there's some great scouting reports out there that just gush about his ability as a receiver. I think the Vikes should definitely give him a shot as the #2 TE, or at least as a pure receiving option behind Rudy. I always like it when your team gets a top high school recruit in the later rounds/undrafted just because it seems like there would be more potential for one of those guys to succeed as opposed to someone who really hasn't been coveted at all, which is the case with many UDFAs and late round picks.
