New England Patriots Scouting Report on Johnny Manziel

@jasonrmcintyre 5m
Pats beat writer @jeffphowe (Herald), says Manziel scouting report Brobible unearthed is fake. Nothing from team yet http://shar.es/SA8Xx

I cant imagine a professional organization like the Pats producing such an amateurish piece of crap.

Whatever happened to verifying things before reporting them?

FWIW:
an anonymous tipster, who is close to BroBible family, contacted us saying that he obtained Johnny Manziel’s scouting report from a New England Patriots employee. He then sent us the PDF file of said scouting report. After vetting the document, and ascertaining that the author of original document is a member of the Patriots organization we feel it is an official New England Patriots document. The report was offered to several other media outlets, but due to our relationship with the source we were given the exclusive.
Also something that nobody within an NFL organization (especially the Pats) would admit was accurate on the record.

But regardless, based on pre draft reports and how much they worked with Teddy, I am going to assume it WAS for Bridgewater
If the attempt to trade up was for Teddy, Spielman would have absolutely said so. And he would have added that they were very relieved to get their guy a few pics later.

I would imagine that the reason that he didn't just say it, if it was a lie, is that there were a lot of people within the organization who knew the truth and he didn't want to look like a liar in front of them.

If it's true that Manziel doesn't study hard or work hard off the field, that won't take long to show up on the field in the pros, especially on a team like the Browns where Manziel is very likely to be thrust into the starting spot sooner rather than later.

There was this one guy named Tarkenton. I think he made the Hall of Fame or something like that.

New England Patriots Scouting Report on Johnny Manziel

http://www.brobible.com/sports/article/ ... -patriots/
I prepared similar reports when I worked at a bank as an underwriter. It looks like a summary page where there would likely be more details in subsequent pages that could be lacking in this leak. They may have made 1 page quick reference reports for the top guys, and this is what it is, with more detailed reports on guys they're really interested in. Seems a little too bare bones to be an all-encompassing scout report. All I know is after I saw that I thought how awesome it would be to have that as a job for the team you love.

Basically Paul Allen had him come up during a commercial break after Jacksonville picked Bortles & Cleveland went to #9 via trade. He asked him "What do you think so far".

Patterson: "I thought Jacksonville was gonna nab Johnny Football but it looks like we're gonna do it now baby! Johnny Football LET'S GO. LET'S GET HIM"...something close to that. The crowd absolutely exploded and then when Cleveland took Gilbert with that #8 spot it felt like it was destiny. Half of the room stormed out and I could see Dawn from Fox9 interviewing depressed Vikings fans. I've got a video I can link later of the reaction... was not pretty
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.

A team source confirmed to Holtzman that the Vikings did try to trade up to take Manziel, and Fox Sports reported on Thursday that the team nearly had a deal in place for the Philadelphia Eagles' pick at No. 22 before the Cleveland Browns came in to trade for the pick and take Manziel.
Jennings thinks Teddy's the better fit.

Blah blah blah...a team source says this, a source says that. If these sources had any balls, and the people reporting the sources had any balls, they would report who the original sources are so it can be confirmed. Its all just sales, and we're supposed to believe it. Well I don't believe half of what they say.

my thoughts exactly.

Whether it's true or not doesn't even really matter. I'm sure we would have wanted Clowney over Barr too. Doesn't make Barr any less worthy of our pick and doesn't matter when the players get on the field. The draft is great fun, something I enjoy greatly, but in the end it doesn't mean anything. First overall players with more potential end up as worse players then some that go undrafted. Teddy was well worth picking at 32 and well worth the 4th round pick we gave up. Now we just have to hope he works hard and lives up to his draft status

If we would have trade up for Manziel (and I still don't believe that we were trading up for Manziel), I would have been irate. Those gimmicky-type players in college football hardly ever pan out in the NFL.

Not to mention, if I hear the name 'Johnny Football' one more time I might vomit. Hell, my friend and I were tempted to turn every time the mention of the name Johnny Manziel on TV into a drinking game. We decided not do this game after we both concluded we would parish of alcohol poisoning before the night was over.

You might like his new name then. They'll soon be calling him "Cleveland Ponder".

GBFavreFan wrote: Am I the only person who read the widely published article about how Mike Zimmer had ZERO interest in Johnny Manziel after his pro-day behavior? and I have yet to read any report to confirm that the Vikings were going to get Manziel at #22. It makes no sense, and since when do teams tell the trade partner who they're going to draft with that pick. Sort of eliminate all leverage doesn't it?
This is how I think it happened. We were talking to the eagles about #22 and made our offer.

The eagles hang up and call CLE and say "hey we got minnesota on the other line, they're offering blah blah blah for #22, probably want to take Manziel, thought you guys might want to know" - click

5 seconds later browns call back "we'll give you #26 and #83 for #22" DONE - click.

And suddenly we lost the bidding war for Manziel.
