Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero
And another #Vikings pay cut: Jamarca Sanford is due $1.75M in 2014 instead of $2.5M. Can earn back the difference in incentives. $400K gtd.

Derek Cox was cheap.

Derek Cox's contract numbers: 1 year $730K base, $220K in playing time incentive and zero guarantees. Zero risk contract.

From Spielman's presser, it sounds like Zimmer is excited to work with him, and has some ideas on different ways to use him.Eli wrote: If he's really that bad, then the Vikings just pissed away $5.5M by guaranteeing his 2014 salary to save only $1M against the cap.

Spielman has been busy... or is it someone else who would handle the restructuring of contracts?frosted21 wrote:http://www.twincities.com/vikings/ci_25 ... structured

Poor Felton. If only Peterson had gotten that 2500 yards, he may not have had to take a pay cut.

I'm sort of confused, outside of blind homerism, why do people think Greenway is some irreplaceable player? Sure, he's a veteran, but he's just not that good...

Pull yr 84 jerseys out.

Likely has more to do with a FB's role (or lack thereof) in Turner's offense.Eli wrote:Poor Felton. If only Peterson had gotten that 2500 yards, he may not have had to take a pay cut.

I have never been blown away by him either. But he is very good when healthy.NextQuestion wrote:I'm sort of confused, outside of blind homerism, why do people think Greenway is some irreplaceable player? Sure, he's a veteran, but he's just not that good...

I have mixed feelings on Chad - I think he could benefit greatly from the improvements we are making on our defensive line, as well as a change in scheme. Keeping my hopes up that we can get another year of productive football out of him, more like his career before last season. If anything, I think people tend to undervalue experience and leadership, which he certainly provides.

It's becoming pretty clear that Greenway is unlikely to finish his career in Minnesota. But hey, they got Jasper Brinkley back.@TomPelissero: Pay cuts like Greenway's are the ones that don't sit well with vets. Played 10 games last year with a broken wrist. No kidding play suffered

Not really, he's clearly not in danger of getting cut and losing his starting job is a long shot.Eli wrote: If he's really that bad, then the Vikings just pissed away $5.5M by guaranteeing his 2014 salary to save only $1M against the cap.

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson 3h
The #Vikings did reach out about RFA LB Vincent Rey. But he's back in Cincy on a 2-year deal.
