I actually really hope so. Would rather see us sign him than Verner.

Fantastic news

Don't really see the point of this unless he's willing to take backup type money, which i don't see happening. Zimmer runs a hybrid 4-3 so we need to be looking for a nose tackle type player to play next to Floyd.

I doubt Williams makes very much money on the open market, considering his age and decline in play. If he doesn't choose to resign with the Vikings, I would expect him to have a while to wait before he gets picked up. Similar to guys like Freeney and Abraham last year.

Williams has expressed his desire to return to the Vikings, and if his market is relatively dry, he'll probably accept a modest contract

Why not? Kevin Williams value on the market probably isn't that great, and he also may be willing to give up a little money to stay in Minnesota.

And I'll point out once again, Sharrif Floyd has a way to go before proving that he's starting material in the NFL. The Vikings need another good option at the 3-technique spot, not just someone to rotate in when Floyd needs a breather.

#Vikings have told Michael Johnson's camp they're out on the defensive end. Everson Griffen deal closed off that possibility.

I don't think its a long shot. If anyone traded for Revis they would be an idiot. He's owed $16 million this coming year. Let the Bucs release him and then inquire about him to see what he wants. We still have the cap to do it if we really want to. It'll be interesting to see how much he commands

That was a different Bucs regime that traded for him though. New GM and head coach will shake things up and of course... Leslie Frazier couldn't handle having actual cover talent at the CB position. Too dangerous for him. Good for Revis if he lands with Philly or NE like rotoworld is saying. He deserves a winner and he was about to get his career destroyed in Frazier's defensive scheme.

I'd be so thrilled if Vikes landed Revis, however, he's an AFC talent that's only had to face Tom Brady as his strongest competition. He got to face whoever was Miami and Buffalo's QBs for years and look brilliant. He's turning 29 in July and is two seasons removed from ACL tear. I'd consider a 3 year deal with him

Another bit on Revis is that he is a true man cover CB. In Tampa they played a ton of cover 2 zone which wasted his talents. (this will probably continue under Smith/Frasier) I wouldn't be surprised if they go for Verner in Tampa as he is more of a soft cover guy like they will play down there.

Revis would likely be a huge pickup for the Vikings, but given his age I suspect he'll want to go to a team with a shot at a ring. Not out of the realm of possibility though...

Buccaneers signed DE Michael Johnson, formerly of the Bengals, to a five-year, $43.75 million contract.
The deal includes $24 million guaranteed, the fourth-highest figure among defensive ends. Johnson will slide in at right end opposite Adrian Clayborn in Tampa, making Da'Quan Bowers a backup. With Johnson, Clayborn, and DT Gerald McCoy in the fold, the Bucs should be able to get more consistent pressure from the front four. Johnson has racked up 21 sacks the past three seasons.

Revis - yes please. Will it happen? Nah, but shoot, I wanted Revis last year (and I thought we were actually going to trade for him too).
