Matt Schaub is the epitome of average QB. He plays in a garbage division and plays in a joke of a conference known as the AFC. He was consistently telegraphed and picked off last year and never could live up to the challenge on big stages against good opponents. How often did his screens to Foster go the distance?
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.
Re: 2014 Free Agent Tracker & Discussion
Maybe. It worked for them the last time they went unconventional and took Mario Williams over Bush. Or perhaps they're looking to deal.mosscarter wrote:i don't see the texans with cassel, keenum, and a rookie qb. i think they are going for clowney.
Re: 2014 Free Agent Tracker & Discussion
exactly. Schaub is as good or better then what's available, even if that isn't say much for his abilities.80 PurplePride 84 wrote: Then what is Cassel?
Or any other QB that's gonna be available to the Vikings in FA for that matter.

I wouldn't mind Matt Schaub. I don't know what in the hell happened with him this year, but the guy still can play. I mean, honestly, he is not any worse than Ponder.

No, Ponder is, and always has been, AWFUL. Schaub had a bad year or 2.NextQuestion wrote:I'm done if we touch Schaub. He is AWFUL

Free agent ILB Jameel McClain will visit the Vikings.
McClain has already visited the Giants and Bills, and is believed to be at the Medowlands on Thursday. He'd help man the middle in Minnesota.

Thanks for the info...I didn't think anything in FA could start until 3/11?Pondering Her Percy wrote:

Because he was cut, he is considered a free agent, as opposed to an UFA.VikingPaul73 wrote: Thanks for the info...I didn't think anything in FA could start until 3/11?

No problem. At least, that is my understanding of it. I could be wrong about that haha.VikingPaul73 wrote:got it, thanks!

If a player is released, then they become unrestricted free agents as soon as they're cut, although players with less than four years of accrued experience must first go though a 24 hour waiver period before becoming UFAs.
Pending free agents (such as the Vikings' Everson Griffen, Jerome Simpson, Jared Allen, etc.) won't actually become free agents until the 2013 NFL year ends on March 11th at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.

I think there's also a stipulation where teams can start talking to players before that date (just can't sign). I want to say it's Saturday but I'm not positive.Eli wrote:If a player is released, then they become unrestricted free agents as soon as they're cut, although players with less than four years of accrued experience must first go though a 24 hour waiver period before becoming UFAs.
