Thanks for the thought, but we don't want any old-school football. WE thought we sent that to Tampa Bay. Aggressive defense yes (I hope that's what you meant) and a potent offense, that's what we need.

Old school offense is run-first. Good luck with that in 2014.

Old school, new school, give me a coach that can adapt ala New England. What makes BB such a great coach is his ability to flip the script. They were a high octane passing offense, then they switched to the dual TE's, and now they have a stout running game. Just when you think you have them pegged, he finds a new way to beat you. THAT is what I want in a coach and hopefully what we have, keep 'em on their toes.
Personnel-wise, that looks like a typical 3-4, particularly the down lineman. Big DEs who you hope will give you some pass rush and a huge nose tackle to eat up blockers. The OLBs are also fairly typical in that they're split between guys who will either primarily be pass rushers with (hopefully) the ability to cover TEs and guys who will mostly play in space, but also frequently rush the passer.
Robison is probably a little undersized for the job. Griffen would spend almost all of his time lining up with his hand on the ground. I think they'd have to do much better than Evans for a NT and would definitely need a high draft pick LB to make this work.
Robison would be useless in a 34 (or this hybrid 43). We have no nose tackle, they couldn't even manage the same job in Frazier's 43 they'd be asked to do every down in that defense....it'd be a complete mess trying to make that work, even worse than sticking with a 43 which Zimmer ran most of his career.
Does anyone know what our new DC ran in his three stops?

I think he ran a 3-4 defense. But I heard he stunk as a coordinator whenever offered that position so im worried.
In an open letter (http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2014 ... /301200096) new Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said good-bye to the Bengals and Cincinnati, where he spent the past six seasons turning the Bengals' defense into one of the league's better and more consistent units.
To all of his former players, Zimmer wrote, "You should be proud of what this franchise has become" and "We proved a lot of people wrong, didn't we?"
We spoke to Bengals defensive back Chris Crocker last week. He told us Zimmer "absolutely loves proving people wrong."
