Yes. And I like Leslie Frazier, but his persona and coaching style wasn't right for this team. Not now, at least. The Vikings needed swift kicks in their behinds and to hold the team and certain individuals accountable. Frazier may have done some of this behind the scenes, but Zimmer will make it very clear.
A team rebuilding, or if you don't like that word, building a young core, needs a leader who tears them down and then eventually brings them back up. Zimmer will bring the Parcell's way to Minnesota. And I like it because respect will be demanded and had.
Being a staunch supporter of Leslie Frazier, I'm disappointed that they hired someone who likes to use profanity so often, but I feel like he's the better coach, so yes.

Even though Mike Zimmer appears to be one of the most respected, and popular coaches in the league, this is still his first season as HC. I won't make any predictions yet. He's going to have his work cut out for him though. We still lack a QB and we have many holes on defense. Holes I doubt he will fix in one season.

I agree. I don't care how much the man uses profanity, as long as we get some wins. It's fiery coaches like Zimmer who are most likely succeed as a HC than cupcake coaches like Leslie Frazier
And who gives a #### how much profanity he uses. I hate the Harbaughs but I've always appreciated their enthusiasm and passion for the game. It's high time we have a coach with a similar mindset and not easy to back down.
When you're born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front row seat.
Vikings are lucky they were the team smart enough to higher Zimmer,He is a great coach he instills greatness in to his players.
Bengals Defense was scary with 25 of zimmers guys on the team picture what happens what he gets a squad of 53?
We won't really know if he's an upgrade until we see what he does, but it's almost impossible for him to do worse so I voted yes. I'm just glad we finally hired someone with a pulse, and I'm really really super glad we didn't hire Bowles. This is the first HC since Burnsie that I've actually been excited about, but I can't wait to start complaining about him xD.

I voted yes for the simple reason that I think a young team needs a coach that will get on them when they are slacking and not doing what they are coached to do . Plus I admit that I never could stomach the blank look on Fraziers face game after game and the post game " we will watch the tape and see how we can improve on" speech . I wish LF all the luck in the world down in Tampa , he was a stand up guy for the most part and his players played hard for him but in a rebuilding mode we need an energetic can do coach IMHO . Welcome to the Vikings coach Zimmer now lets get back to some Viking football and attack

One thing we will have is a "get after it" defense. None of this vanilla ####. There will be many Fbombs dropped in pursuit of this style of defense. It might take a minute, but most have to agree, the end product will be better. Some people like Turner as OC, I am still out on this. He has been spotty since leaving the Cowboys. Not sure how this is going to go. I am willing to take a shot at it for a year I guess.
Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter

And THAT'S what I'm most excited about. FINALLY no more of that gawd awful Tampa 2, cover 0, prevent, let em catch it, bend n break, play it safe, death by a thousand cuts, whatever you wanna call it, sorry excuse for a passive defense that I've been forced to watch the past decade. I want to see some a smash mouth defense in December at TCF. Please please please schedule the Packers for 2 December home games the next 2 seasons. I love that miserable look Cali boy Rodgers gets when it's cold.

I certainly hope so, but until he gets in the saddle, who knows? Moving up to HC from a coordinator position is a transition in itself. He has had success wherever he's been in the NFL.
I like the hire ... And after two out of three seasons with double-digits in the loss column, you'd have to be optimistic about Zimbabwe being an upgrade.

What is it you liked about Fraizer, as a coach? He was a nice guy, everyone liked him. I will even go as far as saying he had morals and was a good human being. The kind of guy you want to do well. But he was a horrible coach imo. He didn't develop talent, and didn't know how or when to use it when it was there. He was extremely stubborn, which may work when your doing well, but doesn't when you lose, and keep losing in the same way.
I am hoping Zimmer wont keep doing the same things, over and over again and expecting different results, like Fraizer did.

Think of it this way, he's still an upgrade over "Mr. Predictable" Bill Musgrave. As long as he stays far away from the HC spot, he can do some great things here. With the limited talent the Browns have, he squeezed as much as talent he could out of them. He had no real QB to work with though this season.

Where you hear some coaches go off, using the language they do, it isn't necessarily a good thing. It means they are just prone to losing their temper. My dad rarely swore and people admired him. I cuss like a b1tch , but its usually when I lose my temper. I don't think when some of these coaches go of with F this and F that, it doesn't show a lot of leadership. I am however all for them getting right into the face of someone who screwed up. Of players sitting if they are late for practice, that type of thing.
