Yeah. I'm beginning to wonder! But maybe we're just impatient. :).

Webbfann tweets no coach decision yet. Webbfann tweets Vikes say Zimmer lead candidate. Webbfann twerks Linehan pegged for OC job. Webbfann tweaks I miss Lesllie. Webbfann chirps Roman best for job. Webbfann woos Zimmer for DC. Webbfann throws up and passes out.

I think part of the last few 'train-wrecks' we have had at coach is because the Wilf's have 'pulled the trigger' too rapidly (they did it with Childress and Frazier). I'm actually glad to see them taking a (seemingly) more measured approach.

As bad as I want Zimmer to be our HC, Im somewhat happen that the Vikings aren't rushing this process. Even if we hire him tonight or tomorrow, I will be somewhat confident because they really seem to have put a lot of thought into this.

I'm starting to think they must have someone else on the radar.

According to the Star Tribune, Zimmer is scheduled to be in town until Thursday morning...so ya we are probably just being a little impatient. They are hanging out, getting to know him.

I daresay I may have been pretty close....

Ken Whisenhunt - OT - Titans

According to a source "familiar with the offers," the Titans offered new coach Ken Whisenhunt $1 million more annually than the Lions.

That's annually, not total. It's a gargantuan sum, and almost certainly why Whiz went from being the front-runner in Detroit to the Titans' new head coach in the blink of an eye. For his part, Whiz has said "chemistry" with the Titans' brain trust was an important factor. We're guessing that chemistry was improved by the millions of extra dollars Tennessee offered.

This this this. Why isn't this done?

Been sitting here hearing/reading reports from Cincinnati that Zimmer is ours for two full days now. I'm extremely concerned this isn't done yet. Now wondering if it ever will be.

Not trying to diss you, but how is Zimmer a proven coach? he hasn't had a head coaching job before where he took a team to a championship, has he? Maybe I missed it.

There are only two teams with head coach openings. This is PRECISELY the time to be deliberate. I would much rather they get the best fit rather than rush it.

Hope like heck you're right. I'd be ecstatic with this hire. Living in Bengals country here in Louisville, I've heard nothing but the highest praise for Zimmer from Bengals fans. And praise from Bengals fans doesn't come easy... at least not for their own guys.

I'd also like to talk a little #### if we steal their guy; that could be fun. 8) :D
