williams-allen-griffen, who leaves who stays
All are free agents at the end of the season. Who do you think will sign elsewhere and who do you think comes back? Who needs to come back?
I think we'll see at least one of them follow Frazier to Tampa

Griff will probably be around, and I can't imagine the other two will get signed in MN...but if either of them do, it's more likely KWill. I'm okay with either scenario.

I think just Allen leaves. Kwill will retire here. But I guess I am hoping that more then anything. I don't know if Floyd is ready to take his place.

Griffin should/is the top priority to sign. Floyd will fill in nicely for Williams and I would guess that Allen will be headed to sunny Florida with Frazier.

I think Williams will be re-signed. Allen, less than a 50% chance of coming back. I'd say Griffen is 50/50, although that may be optimistic. The Vikings may really have to extend a great offer to get him back. His potential as a 3-4 OLB is going to give him a lot of suitors.
The Vikings could easily open training camp next year without any of them. Or, if they only sign Williams, they could have just one certain starting DE.

I love the way both Jarad Allen and Kevin Willam's play the game ... That being said
Jarad Allen he wants to play for a winner and wants his last big dollar short year, contract ... Doubtful comes back
Kevin Willams might be back .. not sure if he will play for less money... would love to see him retire a Viking
Everson Griffen needs to get paid or he will be gone

Every one of them leaves, Griffen didn't want to sign, that should tell us something.

I'm going to be greedy and say I want them all back. In my opinion, Griffen is the most expendable, even though I know that is an unpopular stance.

Griffen is the one we absolutely have to sign and should be our top priority in free agency. He should have been extended already in fact. KWill would be nice to have and JA won't be here and isn't even worth worrying about.

He should have been extended already? It is not that simple with a whole lot of factors coming into play. The salary cap seems quite complicated working around and must be calculated very precisely.maembe wrote:Griffen is the one we absolutely have to sign and should be our top priority in free agency. They were "in negotiations" and the Vikings offer was reportedly "nowhere near the ballpark." It's how these things go. Things will heat up as the sides get closer.Purple bruise wrote: Was he offered an extension?

Re: williams-allen-griffen, who leaves who stays
Not to defer, but I think it depends on the new coach to some extent. What is the direction of this team and this defense?
That said, to speculate in advance I would say Griffen and KWill stay, and Allen is gone.
Has anyone heard anything about what Allen is looking for? If you remember, last year the FA market was really soft for DEs 30+, so I actually think there is a chance he stays. T-Sizzle I beleive is also a FA and he's also in his 30s.

Re: williams-allen-griffen, who leaves who stays
I thought I read somewhere before the season that K Will was going to hang it up after this season ended.

I think that was jut expressed as a possibility. I don't think Kevin Williams has stated what he plans to do.dkoby wrote:I thought I read somewhere before the season that K Will was going to hang it up after this season ended.
VikingPaul73, I haven't heard anything about what kind of contract Allen will be seeking this offseason. I imagine he intends to let the market set the price or he may just try to find his way onto a Super Bowl contender.
