From the tweet (check Zulgad' feed) it sounds like a direct quote from after the game.
It was a retweet of Seth Kaplan who "lip read". BS.

If they don't get rid of allen before deadline this staff is a joke, there is no point of keeping him here for 9 more weeks to just leave then, there is a comp 3rd but lets atleast try for a 2nd if not a 3rd that will be a much higher 3rd rounder.

I have news for you, this staff is a joke. Top (Spielman) to bottom.

No team is going to give up a 2nd for half a year at 17 million dollar contract...

Not sure what team would give more than 3rd (which article points out is likely what his next contract will give us in a compensator pick if we don't sign a big money free agent), and pick up the rest of his massive contract this season when they could just wait and sign him without giving up anything. He's going to have to agree to a new deal with another team before they take him anyway.

Should have moved him two years ago.
Makes sense to push Allen for a 3rd right now. The compensation picks are alloted after the 32nd pick in the 3rd, so any traded 3rd > than comp pick.

Instead of starting another thread, and in particular because I know that the chances of the Vikings trading away any player are slim.

The ONE player that I would trade if given the chance? Greg Jennings.

Not because of any problems. He's still a very good player that most teams would love to have on their roster. But the Vikings jumped the gun on going for a big free agent this season. He's going to be a waste of money in Minnesota. His salary next year is $5M. The Vikings have enough young receivers that they can develop for when they'll be able to compete again in 2015 or possibly 2016, while Jennings is just going to continue to be wasted in a losing effort.

I thought about that as well when I was thinking who on this team might hold enough value to actually be traded. The thing is though, everyone had their shot at him in free agency just a couple months ago and we paid the most. I don't see a team now paying what we paid AND giving us a pick for him when they could have just out bid us back then. The only team I could think of might be the patriots to get Tom Brady some help before the playoffs but they typically aren't that kind of team and I'm not sure if they have the cap space.

If there's a taker though I'd do it, if we could trade loadholt for a 3rd rounder too I'd do that as well and that's mostly to get rid of his contract we just gave him.

Adrian Peterson

Jared Allen

Christian Ponder

Toby Gerhart

Kevin Williams

I'd trade any one of them for not much and only think twice about Peterson.
When it comes to trading players I take the approach best explained by Mr Burns from the Simpsons.

Homer "Mr. Burns, you're the richest guy I know."
Mr. Burns "Yes, but I'd trade it all for just a little more."
This signature predicted the great 2014 - 2025 Vikings dynasty!

This is actually a reasonable trade suggestion. I wonder who is in the market for a WR? I would hope this possibility is being explored.

He would be happy to be out of here too, did you see at the end of last nights game, he went into Rogers ear? I bet I know what he was saying.

Spielman shopping the big name free agent he just signed. I'm sure that'd look great to ownership.

And Carlson, and WAY overpaying a worthless fat tackle after we just cut one. I could go on but I wont.
