What we have doesn't. How many rings does Holmgren have? We will surround him with what he needs. Im tired of starting over for bums.

Hows Spielman done here? Or in his lifetime?

I would say not very good but I don't see how that's relevant to this? Are you saying because one guys pulled the wool over our eyes we should do that again?

No im saying we should get better, try to improve. I would like him as a HC even. I just don't think Spielman has helped us. Im leaning now towards hurting us.

Heh-- well, I'm not the guy to know stats like these, but I recently watched Invincible with my son and I recalled it saying Vermeil took the Eagles to the SB some 6 years after starting coaching at PHI and I had commented to my son that he won it with the Rams much later. But then http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/ has a nice table with a SBWin and Conf column. There aren't many with both SBWin's so it was easy to look for those with more Conf than SB and then check to see what order the losses were in-- wouldn't have known Gibbs or Cowher otherwise. QB's were harder to check... I kind of just kind of stumbled across the Bledsoe technicality after spot checking a few teams I knew had been to multiple SB's... Elway being the only QB to play a SB and lose followed by playing and winning is a pretty interesting stat...

Then after a comeback win, he marches up to the owners box, messes up spielmans perfectly gelled hair, walks up to wilf and says "where do I sign?!"
LOL! That would have been awesome.

You asked why some of us don't like Holmgren. He probably will not HC without GM abilities, and there is no way he should get GM duties. Unless you are somehow pointing to his tenure at Cleveland as an example of how to succeed??? What use is there in replacing ineptitude with more ineptitiude?

They cancel each other out and you get a net result of eptitude, which is nearly as bad because it's not even a word.

That team lost to Joe Willie's Jets. Not sure they made another superbowl.

They did but not with Shula as HC. They won the Super Bowl two years later (the year after the Vikes lost to the Chiefs) but Don McCafferty was the head coach.
