I'd take Mariota as far as this season has gone. See how they develop this yearVikingLord wrote: Depends on where they end up drafting, but if it's out of the top 2 picks, Manziel would be the guy I'd want.

I thought that too but instead of upgrade, how about "can't do any worse?!" man this is bad...dead_poet wrote: Problem is, I don't think Cassell would be much of an upgrade.

Sadly, I think that is correct. I'm not sure making that change solves anything for us.dead_poet wrote: Problem is, I don't think Cassell would be much of an upgrade.

Freeman? Mallett? Cousins? Orton? Patch job. If we have to do that, the season is probably over. No use wasting draft picks. Sink/swim with Ponder/Cassel/MBT, draft a high-round QB in 2014.Crax wrote:Any decent trades for QB out there? I don't like Cassell much either

Ponder is the QB version of Les Steckel.

Sounds good to me, keep ponder as the starter he will get us a high draft pickdead_poet wrote: Freeman? Mallett? Cousins? Orton? Patch job. If we have to do that, the season is probably over. No use wasting draft picks. Sink/swim with Ponder/Cassel/MBT, draft a high-round QB in 2014.

Ive been a huge Mallett fan since the draft we picked Boyblunder. And now hes actually ben coached well by NE.

Man, he just sucks the momentum right out of the team.
I'm torn... do we keep Ponder in this season, completely diffuse any hope of him becoming a starting caliber QB, and draft high? Or play Cassel? Ugh. This is going to be a rough year.
