Agreed, but you CAN teach running out of the pocket and not throwing across your body with a fly ball up for grabs. Sooner or later that can click. Not sure if it will for Ponder.

He sure is. Reminding me a Winfield a little. and that's a huge compliment coming from me. Maybe preseason was just a fluke.Just Me wrote:Robinson is having a good game...

Childress level clock management and the Lions are melting down. If we had anything approximating starting quarterback play, we'd be up by 20.

The thing is, the Vikings need Ponder to attempt more downfield passes or AD is going to be running for negative yardage the rest of the afternoon with the way the Lions are selling out to stop him. So Frazier and Musgrave have to let Ponder sink or swim here. If they don't, even the Lions probably won't be able to screw this up enough to lose.

Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 1
Every time I see Ponder in that sort of sideways-backwards scramble I cringe. It's a hallmark of his tenure at QB and almost nothing good ever happens when he's in that mode. If I'm a defensive coordinator I'd say we've got him right where we want him if Ponder starts doing that.yezzir wrote:
