Harvin too. Good trade for us. He stays hurt. High impact only when healthy doesn't win superbowlsPacificNorseWest wrote:Sidney spends half the season injured anyway.

Antoine Winfield - DB - Seahawks
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Seahawks are preparing to release CB Antoine Winfield.
Per La Canfora, the Seahawks may dangle Winfield as trade bait on Saturday, but in all likelihood will end up severing ties. The Seahawks are a strict best-player-plays team -- that's Pete Carroll's mantra -- and they are excited about Walter Thurmond III as well as Jeremy Lane behind starters Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman. The Redskins and Vikings hotly pursued Winfield back in April. The Broncos were also rumored to have interest.

Re: Winfield released
If Antoine is still physically capable of playing and isn't completely falling apart, he'll be back in a Vikings uniform for the season opener. I'm sure of it, it makes too much sense. In fact, it's such an obvious move that one of those other teams might actually trade for him so the Vikings can't sign him as a FA.
And another layer is added to the strange Vikings-Seahawks rivalry.

Re: Winfield released
I'd take him back at this point, I've seen enough uncertainty at corner that it'd be a nice pick up.

Re: Winfield released
Our defense has always been a "notch better" with Winfield in the game. I would love to see him back where he belongs

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!

No thanks. We're rebuilding. Already signing enough old players. See what we have at the position and try to develop some of what we already have...

Yeah Robinson and AJ back there give everyone confidence in the nickel. Maybe Urlacher can play the slot?Demi wrote:No thanks. We're rebuilding. Already signing enough old players. See what we have at the position and try to develop some of what we already have...

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter
Re: Winfield released
Who knows, maybe someone will step up? They won't when they never get a chance because a 36 year old smurf is handed the job well into what should be his retirement. They'll probably bring him back, because he's better right now this year than the alternative, and Spielman seems to think that's how you rebuild a team. By filling the roster with 30+ year olds, and trying to fill positions with draft picks as they are needed.PurpleKoolaid wrote: Yeah Robinson and AJ back there give everyone confidence in the nickel. And yet Manning would have helped us with Ponder?Demi wrote: Who knows, maybe someone will step up?
