I felt the same about Robinson and was a little surprised at some others saying he looked good. I think I only noticed him when he was whiffing on tackles...so maybe my take on him was skewed. But he got beat for a TD and didn't wrap up, very un-Winfield-like. Hope he catches up fast....he's a likeable kid~Crax wrote:Josh Robinson got killed by nobody receivers. Re: The Negatives
that was the most frustrating thing to see yesterday and again just now. I understand that elite qb's don't grow on trees. obviously every team wishes they had a brady or manning or Rodgers. just doesn't work that way. I just want a respectable qb who can manage a game rather than be a main factor in a loss. those throws were just crazy to me. I honestly don't recall one pass I saw that was right on the money. even the completions were all over and the incompletions were tough to watch.Demi wrote: Number of inaccurate passes. He was totally jittery. I was laughing at his footwork....but he's gotta learn to stay in there and deal. I really can't get a feel for how he's gonna do.vikeinmontana wrote: that was the most frustrating thing to see yesterday and again just now. And that's probably the ceiling my friend. I hope you're content with competing for the 6th seed every year. I mean think about it. AD just turned in arguably the best season a RB has ever turned in and it was only good enough to barely squeak into the playoffs. AD will have to achieve his goal of 2500 yards in order for us to improve in the wins column this year.Purple bruise wrote:You two are sick of it huh. The team went from 3-13 to 10-6 and made the play-offs.
I don't know where to begin, so I'll just dive right in. How many championships do we have in delusional land? Lol j/k. You're in a positive mood about the teams outlook but you allow ilk like me bring you down? And watching Ponder play doesn't bring you down? Sounds like someone enjoys their denial and doesn't like the occasional dose of reality. But then again, you did just post in a thread titled "The Negatives" xD.Purple bruise wrote:Talk about sick of it. Getting on this board in a great mood, positive outlook hoping for the best and not expecting to much more than last year from the team. I, like others, know that this is at least a three year project and so for most of us, we have been pleasantly suprized by the team's accomplichment from last years record to a very solid draft.
What is truly strange for me is reading you and your ilk's constant negative posts with little or no basis and certainly NO better solutions just constant negative crap spew from you two.![]()
From my POV, despite the improvements elsewhere on the team, we still have this huge problem at the most important position. This position is so important that no amount of improvement elsewhere is going to get you to where you want to be (a super bowl).
Lets try a car analogy ... lets say you have this nice car, but it doesn't have an engine. You keep buying and upgrading parts. A new battery here, some new tires there, new breaks, maybe add a little chrome in all the right places, throw in a new coat of paint ... you get it looking cherry. Maybe car show worthy. Wow great, you have an awesome car that's not going to take you anywhere. Maybe AD will push you around the block a few times, but not fast enough for you to get on the highway, and he's not going to push you around forever. I don't know about you, but it would be nice to go for a drive on the highway once or twice before I die.
Yeah I apologize, apparently we don't get much say in who they hire next. But if it's any consolation, I believe Childress is still here, we just call him Frazier now haha.MelanieMFunk wrote:Why thank you, but I'm fine. It took me a minute, but I've moved on. I have to admit though, Frazier and the 2011 Vikings had me missing my bald man just a little bit. Just a tad.
The 2010 and 2011 Vikings majorly underachieved, but 2011 was just freaking depressing.
Riiggggghhhhht! I'm sure all that booing at the dome week after week didn't have any effect on Wilfs decision to finally pull the plug on the Childress regime.Mothman wrote:I enjoyed it but, (with apologies to Reignman) I don't think we fans had anything to do with getting Childress replaced.

Re: The Negatives
I knew having Robinson on the outside wouldn't work. He is a nickel corner at best. I understand Frazier wants players to earn their spots but this is a no-brainer, Rhodes is the better option on the outside.Crax wrote:Josh Robinson got killed by nobody receivers. Re: The Negatives
I am not sure what rattled your cage but if you must know I believe in what Spielman said before last years draft and season that this team is in a three year rebuilding mode. They stayed away from signing a 100 year old, washed up Bear's linebacker , that the Bears did not even want anymore, traded a malcontent (Harvin) for several excellent picks in this years draft to complement the previous drafts which brought in Walsh, Kalil, Rudolph (already Pro Bowlers), Jarius Wright. Jettisoned Kluwe ( who was/is a distraction) and drafted a very good punter in Locke. They signed Felton (still young) and he made the Pro Bowl also. I liked the Jennings and Bishop signings that should easily supplant losing Jenkins and Jasper Brinkley. They exceeded anyone's expectations by trippling their win total from the year before.allday1991 wrote: So in three years from now, if the team is not rebuilt and not a 'contender' for the superbowl, will you finally get a bit fed up as a fan? Or will you just start saying o we are just rebuilding again no need to think of the negatives..

Re: The Negatives
They may not be bad, but they aren't Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, etc. either. I'd understand if he got beat like a drum by those guys. The reason they'll be starters is the other guys are injured. Based on what people expect from our receivers, you'd think a qb couldn't complete a pass without the receiver being 5 yards open.Boon wrote: Those nobody receivers are going to be the niners starters, and a gang of them are rookies, that doesn't mean they're bad.
Re: The Negatives
I think the biggest negatives right now are the injury to Kevin Williams and the suspension of Felton (can we start next season without a Vikings player being suspended, please?). Hopefully, Floyd will be ready and able to start in week one and Ellison (and perhaps Line?) will be able to pick up the slack in Felton's absence.

Am I remembering correctly that Chris Cook is injured as well? The guy just can't stay on the field. Seems to be his fate.Mothman wrote:I think the biggest negatives right now are the injury to Kevin Williams and the suspension of Felton (can we start next season without a Vikings player being suspended, please?). Re: The Negatives
Cook was injured but it didn't sound like anything that would linger and keep him out of the season opener. I think Frazier described the injury vaguely as "bumps and bruises".Texas Vike wrote: Am I remembering correctly that Chris Cook is injured as well? The guy just can't stay on the field. Re: The Negatives
Yeah, just a little bump. It's the preseason so if anything happens they're going to play it safe and have you come out till they can get a look at it and an MRI to make sure.Mothman wrote:

Agreed. Especially on that run play w/ the WR that he snuffed out. He rocked that guy; a smart and explosive play. The Breeze wrote:Cook looked really good Sunday. The dude better stay healthy this year~

Re: The Negatives
I'm concerned about our interior rush defense in the first 3 weeks. Against Detroit it shouldn't be too big of a deal since they are more about the screen game than the interior rushes. Still, if KWill and Floyd are out we are thin in front of a 240# MLB who isn't exactly all pro. Against CHI and CLE that could be bad news. Here is to hoping Floyed is healthy by the opener.
Josh Robinson is also on my radar, hopefully Sunday night was a wakeup call.
