Dan Wiederer writes briefly about the Vikings questionable depth at MLB, Josh Robinson adjusting well to the slot CB position and the Vikings upcoming practice under the lights tonight:

Thanks! Here's a little more detail on that:

Ponder had more room to breathe in 7-on-7 passing drills, where he completed all six of his passes, including targets to receiver Greg Jennings, Kyle Rudolph and a check down to Adrian Peterson. Ponder carried the roll into team drills, completing a total of eight passes in a row between the two exercises before overthrowing receiver Jerome Simpson on a go route.
That link also features a few paragraphs about the first two-minute drills of camp. It sounds like the defense got the best of the offense in those drills.

Sounds like Frazier is feeling good about Josh Robinson’s transition to slot CB. I think it's the first time I've read that Robinson is getting the hang of it. Good news for the D.

Looks like a hamstring for Raymond too. Bishop told reporters he was fine while walking off so hopefully they're not out long.
Linebacker Desmond Bishop has recovered from a torn hamstring that sidelined him for all of the 2012 season. But Bishop now has a new injury, reportedly to his groin.

“I’ll be fine,” Bishop said after suffering the injury on Friday, via Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Defensive coordinator Alan Williams said Saturday that Bishop will be held out of a Saturday night scrimmage, but Williams declined to delve into details.
That's why you don't sign old beat up players!!!

Like Brian Urlacher?

Seriously, I have not ever really been as hard as you as most on this board, but enough is enough. If you don't like the team, stop watching them. This trolling you are doing lately is REALLY annoying.

LOL. BU is beyond old and beat up. Great player and leader at one time, but whew! Over the hill. I can see wanting his leadership and passion more than anything. But his body is done. I'm glad we didn't go that route. Seems like things are looking better at LB. That's all we can hope for.

The season hasn't even started and we've had Jennings with an ankle issues. And now Bishop is banged up. But cookies and ice cream "this other guy was a bad idea too!". If you're not going to sign an old player, DONT DO IT. But cheap Bishop was willing to play for peanuts and some robitussin to rub on every injury he's going to get so boy howdy let's snatch him up! He can be our outside blitzing threat because THAT'S what our tampa 2 defense desperately needed!

Trolling? Really? We signed an old washed up scrub no one wanted on a next to nothing deal and the LEMON we bought just broke down on the side of the road. Pointing that out is trolling? Guess I should have just spouted the company line "he'll be back" "it's only a scrimmage" "nothing serious" blah blah blah. You like that? Great read the other twelve posts that will say it.

Imagine if I responded to every garbage post that reads like paid vikings employees are writing it by calling that person a troll. Don't you get enough of that? Or does everyone have to be a cheer leader?

I think Bishop just turned 29 a couple weeks ago. If that's old and washed up--I'm going to be old and washed up in a few short years. lol. Really. The dude isn't old, but he better find a way to stay healthy if he wants to stick around. My coworker had some magazine last night at work that listed him as an impact player and comeback player of the year or some junk like that for the Pack. Obviously that was written just before we got him--but hopefully he can be that good for us. Hopefully.

And please do be a cheerleader. Please do. :) Post pictures in your outfit. All of you should. :)

Who cares about Jennings having a few minor injuries for the past couple of seasons. What do you expect the Vikings to do when we lost Percy Harvin and really didn't have a chance to sign Mike Wallace, a "younger" WR. Patterson is a work in progress. What the Vikings needed was a veteran to lead the younger WR and to make plays, which we know he can do when healthy. So far he has been holding up. We haven't even started the season and people are already doubting him.

As for Desmond Bishop, I don't see the problem here either. We got him for cheap. If he gets hurt, I think the other guys who were here before him will step up. We have Marvin Mitchell starting and I think Gerald Hodges is in that mix as well. Everyone take a chill pill.

Injuries are so cliché in the NFL. Yeah Bishop and Jennings have injury history but any football player, healthy or not can get hurt on any given play. That's why you would hope that the coaches build a team with good depth so another player can step up for the inactive players.
