Stadium Seats

Post by billingsviking »

Hello everyone, I am going to a game in Minni this year. I have never been in the dome and am looking for some advice as to what seats are the best. For the game that I am going to see, there are still pretty good seats on the Vikings side of the field. Is it possible to be too close? Any input would be appreciated.

I went to a Viking / Jaguars game in JAX once and thought I had an awesome seat but I was so close It was difficult to see over the players.

Hmm. Are there any seats that are too close? I would say no, but I've never been super close over by the Vikings sideline before--as those are the most expensive seats. I have been row 2 and 3 before though--corner of the end zone area and I loved it.

Some people say there isn't a bad seat in the Dome. I don't know if I would go that far, but every seat I've sat in was just fine. My opinion is: Anywhere in the lower level is good, and probably up to row 5-10 in the upper level (sideline area would be really nice). Some people actually prefer the upper level. I suppose I guess it's mostly up to your preferences. Personally, I like the corner of the end zone/Vikings sideline area. One corner is by the Vikings tunnel and the other is over there by CheeseFree and the gang.

The way I see it, if you are coming from far away--treat yourself and get the best seats you can!

I hope that helped at least 2%. lol.

Good luck!

Thanks! I appreciate the input. And I do plan to treat myself with a great seat.

It's going to be the browns game. Not my 1st choice but is what worked for everyone's schedule. It's going to be a great time. Really looking forward to it.

Hey now, the season (home) opener is a little extra exciting. That--and the Browns are "an easy W". I know there are no easy wins in football, but I keep telling myself it'll be one. :)

I'll be there, too. As a matter of fact, you should check out the "Viking Bar" section. Jackal was trying to get a bunch of people together for that game. Maybe you're interested?

Sorry for the confusion.

The best seats aren't in the stadiums, but I'm sure most who attend NFL games are glad they did. I don't relish the idea of sitting in JJones land full'a cowboys.

I've been to 3 games (but never one at the dome, we're too far away!) and all were fun. Would love to see a real home game, but don't see that happening unless we win the lottery LOL.

That said, my only advice is stay out of the nosebleeds and get as close as you can where you can see over the sidelines. Some of the larger stadiums (like LP Field where the Titans play) really went too big and you can't see without binocs. If I'm going to spend my time looking at a screen to see what happened, it will be my own TV screen.

Have a fantastic time, wish I could be there too!

Anything on the sidelines is decent, lower level even better. The only seats that suck in the dome are 2nd deck corner of end zone. I sat in those once before I had season tickets, for the 1992 Redskins playoff game, terrible. I sat on the lower level end zone for the 98 title game, those were surprisingly good.

I have always sat WAY WAY up in the corner or above the End Zone and I don't have any complaints.

IMO the best seats are in the first 6-8 rows in 208 -210

That is high enough to see the whole field of play and pretty close to middle

If you want sit in the Visitor section across the field they might be a little cheaper.

I don't really think there are any really bad seats ... I am coming to the Browns game
and sitting really high in section 209 behind the end zone ...

little story sort of off-topic. i'm of the belief that if i'm watching the vikes in the dome there is no such thing as a bad seat...

about 10 years ago, 2002 I think, I decided to take in a game with my then girlfriend who had never been to Minnesota. we were visiting family for thanksgiving and had no intentions of seeing a game when we got there. so needless to say I wasn't prepared. the vikes came up and we decided to take in a game if we could find 2 tickets so late. think it was the day before they hosted the falcons.

I scored a couple tickets online and when we were finding our seats I knew they were high up but didn't know just how high. we literally had 2 of the "worst" seats you could have. we were right in front of the jumbotron in the endzone! like, there were no seats higher than ours...just a huge screen. that said, once I got used to it I kind of liked the view up there!

it was also funny that we were sitting with all of jay feely's family. he was kicking for the falcons at that time. I know kickers don't get a lot of love, but still found it funny that the seats he can score his family literally were about the worst there was!

anyway, i'm sure most of you remember that game. we went into overtime and falcons had the ball. vick pulled off maybe the most remarkable run of his career and escaped about 9 tackles before taking it in for the game winning td. but from my vantage point it was pretty awesome because I could see the entire play develop and actually left my seats and started walking down the aisle when he was only about to the 50. you could just see that no one was gonna catch him and I was probably outside the dome before the falcons even finished celebrating on the field.

it was annoying but still kind of cool to see a play develop like that. :x
i'm ready for a beer.
