Nice comprehensive report. Thanks for posting. A little strange at the lack of coverage for Floyd though. I really hope the guy plays with a chip on his shoulder. He's a pretty integral piece of the defense going forward. Hopefully he becomes a stud.Mothman wrote:This is a good, position-by-position pre-camp overview of the Vikings:

That would be nice!dead_poet wrote:Nice comprehensive report. Thanks for posting. A little strange at the lack of coverage for Floyd though. I really hope the guy plays with a chip on his shoulder. He's a pretty integral piece of the defense going forward. Hopefully he becomes a stud.
The lack of coverage may be due to expectations that he will initially be backing up Kevin Williams rather than starting but who knows how things will actually play out? By the end of the summer, maybe we'll find Floyd challenging to start at nose tackle.

A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Re: Team Report - MINNESOTA VIKINGS
That article had quite a bit of editorializing where the author injected opinions to overshadow the analysis. I found the piece to be rather boring and repetitive in the sense that the author’s opinions weren’t really original so much as they were echoing the media consensus on the issues with the Vikings. If a prognosticator were to really stake a claim he’d offer a controversial opinion and back it up with some data.
Just as an example of the laziness of this journalist: Consider the take on Desmond Bishop. He assumes that Bishop will be the man in the middle, which is the popular media take. However, on this site we’ve seen more detailed stuff that would indicated that Bishop’s game is probably better suited to the strong side position since EH is actually appears to be the better player in coverage.
The author did do a better job talking about some of the injury concerns, most notably John Sullivan on the OL. I think that is probably the most “under the radar” issue for the team. (hopefully it stays that way)
