You are passionate, and especially emotional...I'll give you that.JEC334 wrote: I wanna see this team win a super bowl as much as the next Viking fan. People may think im too dramatic. And maybe I am but only because I am a passionate and emotional person when it comes to football especially with the Vikings. I want them to succeed. The point I was making on what good is keeping Floyd on the bench this season?
"Then everyone is like not all 1st round draft picks start day 1. He'll get increase reps if he improves." And what good is that because that just means Kevin Williams will get a reduction in reps. Assuming Floyd is everything we think he is, why not just let him play along side with Kevin Williams? Keep your two best DTs on the field at the same time you know. Then people start posting pictures of llamas.
Then it dawn to my head, most people here agree with the coaches decisions. Im know coach and not claiming I can do Frazier's job better. But when you think about it none of my concerns about the coaches are neither wrong because no Vikings coaching staff has put together a super bowl winning team. Call me pessimistic but it is what it is!! I just wanna see my team make great decisions.

With that said, I understand your points on this. But at the end of the day, you just have to realize that none of us (even the ones who sit online all day searching for Vikings info lol) know even 10% of what the coaching staff does. It's not necessarily about always agreeing with every move; it's more about accepting the moves for what they are--and trusting that the guys in position to make the decisions, are making the right ones. What other choice do we really have until we all become coaches ourselves? lol You know as well as I do, they are trying to do their best, and they are trying to win. It hasn't been all that pretty in the past few years--or in our history in general, considering the main goal of a Super Bowl--but I'm fairly confident we are moving in the right direction.
Now to be more specific about this Floyd and Williams discussion, I wouldn't panic just yet. It seems as if your main concern is Williams losing time in place of Floyd when you want them both on the field at the same time--as much as possible. Understandable. We all love Kevin, and I'm sure we've all heard great things about Floyd. As a matter of fact, from what I remember, some said he was the number one defensive player coming out of the draft--and the number three overall player. Not too shabby, right? Of course you want to see him on the field and see what the heck he can do. We all do. With that said, just because he was on top of the draft boards doesn't mean he's automatically going to come in and be better than some of the guys we already have on the team. We all know college football and the NFL are at different levels. You can't expect him to come in day 1 and just be better. He has to prove it. Maybe he is; maybe he isn't, but I don't know it has been proven one way or the other quite yet. That takes time.
As I said, you just have to put a little trust in our coaching staff to make the right decisions. We all miss what it was like when we had the Williams Wall. Trust me. I get you. But getting that back isn't going to be a quick fix, because Floyd isn't Big Pat and Kevin isn't 5 years younger anymore. If there is ONE area on this football team that I've had the most confidence in in the past few years--aside from the backfield--it's the D-line. I wouldn't worry too much about this situation quite yet. We all miss Pat, but we've had a solid group of guys for quite some time now. I have confidence that this situation will play out just fine--and we'll come out okay.
