Over/Under
OK, its the dead of summer and we need a little fun to pass some time.
Over/under on Adrian getting 1800 yards and 20 TD's
I figure he gets less yards than last year because of an improved passing attack but many opportunities at the goal line.
I'll do one more
Over under on sacks for Shariff Floyd? Hope I spelled that right. I'll say he gets 7 and becomes a starter in week 10. (i'm not saying where) LOL

Re: Over/Under
I'll say under on AD, mostly because I don't think he'll reach 20 TDs (the most he's ever had was 18 in a season).
I think Floyd will get 3-4 sacks, capped mostly by playing time and being a rookie.

Under. under.
Peterson will be under 1500 yards. Floyd will be under 5 sacks.

Well one thing I have learned watching AD: Not smart to be against him. Hell he might go for 2500 yards
Re: Over/Under
I'll take the under on both and hope I'm wrong.dkoby wrote:OK, its the dead of summer and we need a little fun to pass some time.

I'll take the under on that too and say he gets 5 sacks in his rookie season.

Under, under.
AD will have a monster year but not 2500 yards on the ground. OTOH, he might end up with close to 2000 *overall* yards. I think Ponder will throw the ball more often, including to AD.
Floyd will get situational duty during his rookie year, which will keep him from getting 7 sacks. BTW, judging from everything I've seen from Floyd when he was a Gator, he isn't a sack machine, though he's disruptive enough to create situations for others to make sacks.

No matter what I say, it will be wrong. But I agree with you on this. People say, well no one has ever done it before. (two 2,000+ seasons) Well, in 2006 if you said no QB will ever have back to back 5,000 yard years based on history you would have been right. Now, not so much. So can he? sure will he? Doubt it. Would I love to see it. Absolutely. Under.Laserman wrote:Well one thing I have learned watching AD: Not smart to be against him. Hell he might go for 2500 yards
As to Floyd. under.

Re: Over/Under
Agreed. I think this will be a "down" year for AD, like 1200-1400 yards 10 TDs. I think the coaching staff is going to cut down on his carries as they are now probably thinking about prolonging his career, so like 275-300 carries. He'll still average 4.5-5 yards per run. Gerhart is in the final year of his rookie deal so they might as well give him a decent amount of touches early in the season to stir up a trade market.Eli wrote:Under. under.

Floyd won't light up the sack column in the box scores but we shouldn't judge him by that alone. If he can live up to his reputation as a backfield disruptor then I'll be pleased. I like that we still have KWill on the team and playing in front of Floyd so there isn't a ton of pressure on him right away. He's going to learn how to play the position from one of the best. So, like Peterson, Floyd will have something that limits his playtime and they both will have to play at a very high level to overcome it.
Can I add a couple more to the table?
Ponder over/under 3200 yds passing
Rhodes 2 ints

Re: Over/Under
Under for Peterson because I expect the passing game to be much more productive.
Under for Floyd because his reps are limited.

I'll take the over on that one.HornedMessiah wrote:Ponder over/under 3200 yds passing
That sounds like a push to me.Rhodes 2 ints

Re: Over/Under
I think Peterson will get 1800 yards, if not 2000 again, but i highly doubt he will get the 20 TDs so i guess i have to say under on that one. Also I say under on Floyd aswell, but it would be interesting if in his limited playing time he was able to lead all our DTs in sacks.
Edit: Ponder over 3200 yards Rhodes over 2 ints (and Cook over 2 ints aswell)

Re: Over/Under
If Ponder has success downfield to the point where defenses stop stacking the box I actually think it will decrease the amount of yards AD gains. He'll have less carries and fewer runs where he's going 60 yds for a TD.
I say his TDs go up, but not 20. Maybe 17.
I was going to start a futures contest thread, after the roster is set, with about 20 different season stat prospects. Both individual and team stats. The poster closest to the actual number at season's end for each stat would get a point. If there was a tie, each would get a point. Who ever gets the most points would win. There would also need to be a tie breaker question, in case there was a tie at the end of the season.
But, I only have about 3-4 days of consistent internet access left before hitting the road for many months. So, I can't guarantee I'd be there to post it.
Maybe someone else will think it's an entertaining idea and do it. I thought it would be kinda fun like the pick 4....except you would make one big set of picks right before week 1.

Re: Over/Under
Adrian is a beast, but I think it is a bit unfair to set the over/under at those numbers. The point is to get action on both sides.dkoby wrote:Over/under on Adrian getting 1800 yards and 20 TD's

I'd take the under for both, although I think Peterson will still have a great year with 1600 yds/14 tds.
As others have stated, I think Floyd will be productive but his playing time and skill set won't be conducive to those kind of sack numbers. Under.
Re: Over/Under
Over on AD. I think he breaks Dickerson's record.
Under on Floyd. I think he'll be a disruption but see 4.5 - 5 sacks this season.

Absolutely, I thought this might be a fun way to be positive and a good way to back up what we think certain players expectations are.HornedMessiah wrote:

Ponder at 3200 yards is just about where I expect him to be. Unfortunately I think it will also keep the lingering questions about his ability. I'll say just slightly under. As for Rhodes, I'm going to call under, not for lack of ability, but for the lack of aggression in the scheme.
Here's an interesting one: Over/Under on Kick off returns for TD's for Coradelle Patterson. Lets go with 3 I think he lights it up this season, he passes the eyeball test for me.
