Top five reasons we win a Superbowl in next four years ...
1. Ponder is the a decent QB and makes defenses play honest
2. AD is a Hall of Fame player and we ride him to a bowl win
3. Our two past drafts and next two give us a stacked team full of
pro bowl talent ..
4. our fans and teams get so pumped up with the new stadium we
win our first Superbowl in our own house (Yeah baby SKOL)
5. at some point you have to fricking win one right ?
Top five reasons our drought continues ..
1. Ponder really sucks and we stick with him and waste AD's prime years
(yeah that scares me too)
2. Our players get draft picks get frustrated and leave to more popular pastures
3. We let great leaders like Winfield and Allen go and our defense falls apart
4. We miss in the next few drafts and our quality drains away..
5. We go and lose our fifth Bowl game because the league favors the other team
and something really does hate us ..

Re: Top five reasons we win/miss a Superbowl in 3 three year
I made this in a comment just a moment ago, but this is a better place:
Biggest Issue on Team:
Does Ponder Improve - no need to discuss there have a gazillion threads already
Under the radar stuff:
Negatives:
Greenway Injury is more severe (unlikely)
Sullivan Injury caused him to miss games (this one is scary IMO)
Guards do not improve
LB cupboard is bare outside of Greenway
CB: Is Rhodes legit? Can Cook play 16 games? Is Robinson starting material? Injuries?
Positive:
Carlson is healthy and poised to provide an unexpected additional passing target
Skill Positions could be best Franchise has fielded since Moss/Carter/Reed
OL (if healthy) could be top 10 in league
DL is probably poised to improve
S will be better

I know the two outcomes are mutually exclusive, but for some reason I want to vote: ALL OF THE ABOVEjackal wrote:Top five reasons we win a Superbowl in next four years ...

I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!

I would say our OL is already top ten without a doubt
The linebackers scare me as much as anything (especially without Winfield helping out)

Three years or four years? Looks like someone got confused.
Top five reasons the Vikings will win a Super Bowl in next three years...
Top five reasons the Vikings WILL NOT win a Super Bowl in next three years...
Top five reasons the Vikings will win a Super Bowl in next three years...
- Christian Ponder proves to be a bona fide starting NFL quarterback, finding his game in the 2013 season and giving the Vikings organization enough confidence in him not to panic and take a QB in the 1st round of the 2014 draft.
- The Vikings find, through free agency, the draft, and the development of young receivers, sufficient enough weapons in the passing game to win playoff games in the current era of the NFL.
- Adrian Peterson continues to provide balance in the run game that takes pressure off of the passing game and, indeed, opens things up downfield.
- The run defense solidifies with the addition of Sharrif Floyd and the resurgence of Kevin Williams in the middle.
- The passing defense improves with the addition of some fine young linebackers and the emergence of a surprise starter at safety and solid cornerback play.
Top five reasons the Vikings WILL NOT win a Super Bowl in next three years...
- Christian Ponder proves during the 2013 season to be the bust that many NFL football fans and the football media believe him to be. Forcing the Vikings to draft a QB in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. That QB may or man not start him in 2014, but it makes little difference as it will be a lost season playing behind either Ponder, Matt Cassel, or a raw rookie. The Vikings lose a minimum of two, and as many as four seasons by starting all over in their search for a QB.
(This list could stop right here. Without a QB the rest is moot.) - Adrian Peterson hits the wall that most 30 year old running backs inevitably hit, becoming just another decent, not spectacular running back. By the time a franchise QB emerges in Minnesota, he's little more than a shadow of his former self.
- The Vikings personnel department lays an egg in drafting Cordarrelle Patterson, who never develops as a receiving threat, and in the signing of Greg Jennings, who is injured for a significant portion of his brief two-year stay in Minnesota before being cut.
- The Vikings find no significant replacements on the defensive line for Pro Bowlers Kevin Williams and Jared Allen. Both the run defense and the pass rush continue to fall off.
- No obvious starter emerges at MLB, while Chad Greenway fades as he ages. Problems continue in the secondary as the Vikings start journeymen safeties along side Harrison Smith and the cornerback play continues to be lackluster.
