Tossing this here:
The #Vikings have signed LB Stanford Keglar. Keglar played for Tennessee in 2008 & 2009 and for Houston in 2010.

Thomas Howard is still a free agent... I would be in favor of signing him...

#Bears announce they've brought back Devin Aromashodu. He was #Vikings' lone unsigned free agent remaining. Played past 2 seasons here.

Updated. Out of 14 Vikings free agents this offseason, 11 were re-signed and 3 signed elsewhere - Geoff Schwartz, Jasper Brinkley and Devin Aromashodu.

I know a lot of people won't be super excited about those 11 guys but it means a good deal for continuity sake and building further on the blocks we did have in place. Schwartz was one I wouldn't have mind keeping but Brinkley and Aroma definitely won't be crying over.

Yeah, I think they definitely would have had Schwartz back if given the chance. As for the other ten, I'm hoping that at least a couple don't make the roster. Continuity is good, but if the Vikings can find better talent than guys like Kropog, Sendejo and Mitchell, that will mean they did well in the draft and free agency. There's a point at which you need to begin upgrading all the fringe players that made the roster only because you released aging veterans when you began rebuilding. They need better depth than those players give them.

now THIS is interesting...

GREEN BAY – Desmond Bishop’s time with the Green Bay Packers is apparently over.

According to an NFL source, barring an unlikely contract restructure or trade, the Packers will be parting ways with Bishop, who missed all of last season with a ruptured hamstring tendon suffered in the Aug. 9 preseason opener at San Diego.

Bishop did not participate in any of the team’s organized team activity practices, including Tuesday’s final open practice, or the mandatory minicamp last week. The Packers have three OTA practices remaining but they are all closed to the public and media...Bishop was arguably the team’s best defensive player in 2011, registering 115 tackles and five sacks along with forcing two more fumbles in 13 games...

...Bishop said on May 28 that his hamstring tendon is “100 percent” healed and that he is “really close” to returning.

“I’m ready, I feel good, but it’s better to be on the cautious side than strain it again and be down another five weeks,” Bishop said. “So we’re just being cautious.”
Pretty much a no-brainer to bring this guy in for a tire kickin', right? He'll be only 29 this season so he's got plenty of game left in him..if his hammy is okay. This could be a fortunate turn of events for the Vikes, but I'm sure we're not the only team looking for LB help right now. He'll draw plenty of interest if he hits the market.

From a quick glance at the reaction to this news, doesn't seem like GB fans are too pleased. :)

I can see it now.

Reporter: There was a report that Desmond Bishop has been released by the Packers. Are you guys thinking about looking at him to fill the spot at Linebacker?

Frazier: I don't know. Right now we are focusing on the players on our football team and moving forward to training camp. Erin Henderson has been performing great so far in the OTAs, so we are going to continue to look at him at the Linebacker position. We also have Audie Cole and Michael Mauti competing for a spot as well.

39 year old T.O. told NFL Network this morning that he still can play that two teams he think he can fit are the Vikings and Chiefs. Interesting, we know he has a good relationship with our coach George Stewart and he has a good relationship with coach Andy Reid of Kansas city. I doubt we will sign him but just interesting that he's interested in the Vikings.

He's interested in any team who will sign him because he's broke. No team is going to pay for this guy.

I like T.O. but he is too old. And Im pretty sure the Vikings aren't even interested in Owens. I think its time for him to hang up the cleats. I can't think of any team would dare sign a 39 year old WR. And It took him basically to the age of 40 to realize his antics were childish. I admire his passion to keep playing football. But I dont think we will be "Getting our popcorn ready" for T.O. anymore.

Joe Webb over TO any day, these days.
