I hear nothing that indicates he didn't like playing with Ponder. People can read into something that they want to hear.Mothman wrote: You sure can... and he basically just echoes back the answer that was posed within the question. To my ears, nothing about that reply suggests he had a problem with Ponder but it's open to interpretation.

Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

I'll gauge Ponder by using Eli as a model. Tiki Barber trashed Manning in 2007. He also trashed the coach. He stated Manning can't be taken seriously as a leader. Barber retired. The Giants won the Super Bowl that season beating an undefeated New England team. Manning won MVP honors, then went on to win Super Bowl 46 and once again was awarded MVP honors. Manning had Burress, Toomer, Smith as receivers in S.B. 42. He then had Nicks, Cruz, Hixon, Ballard in S.B. 46. Aside from Harvin, Ponder has had nothing to work with. This will be his third season and he now has a receiver corp. to work with. Time will tell. Give the kid a chance and show some patience. Harvin is a very talented athelete as was Barber. I'm looking forward to this season with optimism. I will dread the Viking/Giant game as always.

The early season wasn't bad at all and when he got his confidence back (after some less than professional play) we saw shimmers and shades of a really productive NFL QB. Musgrave calls the plays no doubt and Ponder's dink dunks are deadly 3rd down options with Rudolf at TE.
2 things Ponder is missing is the air of leadership and deeper attempts. If he keeps his crap (head case) together and plays like he did at the end of the season especially the second game against GB with the receivers we got now we could see a completely different looking offense.
Yes I remember during like the first few games, everyone was talking about how good he was and how he didnt throw any INTs yet. Of course I was one of the few already concerned, during those first few games, that those dink and dunk passes were going to limit us against good teams.
Then during the mid-season everyone thinks he's a terrible QB. Ponder's main weakness is not going through his progressions. He has said this plenty of times himself. He can make big throws but you can tell that he's not comfortable throwing them. I remember his game against GB during his first season. Both games, he threw some deep passes, and most were either batted down or picked off. Ever since those two games, i never seen Ponder throw too many deep passes anymore...
