Lack of Confidence in Ponder final straw for Percy Harvin

Forget Percy Harvin, he's a chump. The Seahawks is an overrated team who everyone thinks are super bowl favorites. Even old man Winfield said in a press conference that as soon as he it the FA, the Seahawks was his #1 option because he felt like they had the best shot to win a super bowl. Its only a matter of time before they fail and Harvin becomes a headache for them.

Sounds like you have a lot of hate in you. Based on paper, they will go farther then the Vikes. Their QB is really good, and its is 2nd year. And he has one of the best YaC/slot WRs Ive ever seen. And the best KR in the NFL. Don't base your opinion just on hate, or at last say you hope they fail. I hope Winfield and PH have a great year, but not at the expense of the Vikings.

Unfortunately, I agree with PurpleKoolaid. There's nothing to suggest the Seahawks will be overrated. That team is extremely solid and added top FA's at each position where they needed depth. Also, Russell Wilson is not the type of quarterback to lead an over-hyped team. I seriously can't see them failing with him as their Q. I think that highly of him.

I agree with the premise behind that statement, but I won't buy it as an argument for the 2013 Seahawks automatically being overrated.

I'm not surprised in the slightest by this news, as there are many Vikings fans who also lack confidence in Christian Ponder. But what one can glean from this story, is that our 2nd most talented guy on the team didn't want to be a Viking because of our QB.

And then we have this radio interview in March where he also complains about Ponder ...

Percy came on the local radio show here in Seattle for an interview and from everything he said, it definitely sounds like the reason was Ponder. I didn't care to watch his press conference so most of you probably already figured this, but this pretty much sold it for me.

He was asked about having sour relationships with his coaches at every level and he said that he just laughs at all the reports because he has text messages from Frazier and other coaches that say otherwise...about them loving Percy and how they're going to miss him.

When asked why he wasn't utilized deep since his rookie year he said it was a mix of the offensive scheme and quarterback. Although the question was framed to include Ponder, he didn't deny that it was one big part he wasn't going long anymore.

Overall, it's hard to hate him really after hearing that. Just makes me wonder what REALLY went down. Time to move on, I suppose...

Now we're supposed to believe Ponder wasn't an issue lol? Well whatever, I'm just glad we got rid of this headache.

I listened to and then brought up the press confrences because Harvin has not said anything of the sort in those press confrences but did say that his leaving had nothing to do with Ponder. And so you are listening to some unnamed radio show and from what you gleaned from Harvin's conversation it was about Ponder why he left

He's not directly saying anything Ponder but he drops hints around it (mainly how the question was posed, but you can make it to be many things). Like I said, I never saw any press conferences and this being the first I heard from Harvin, I definitely sensed that the only thing that was a logical reason was that he preferred to not play with Ponder. I was right about what I said and my opinion is just that, but don't act like I just pulled this outta my ####.

Tell me...What else makes sense?

You sure can... and he basically just echoes back the answer that was posed within the question. To my ears, nothing about that reply suggests he had a problem with Ponder but it's open to interpretation.

Of course I have a lot of hatred. I remember telling my friends way before Harvin got drafted that year that he was going to be a Viking. Everyone was like, "No way Harvin becomes a Vikings, he didnt fit with y'all." And when the Vikings drafted him I was very happy. I knew he was going to be special. He was my favorite Vikings and him leaving the way he did broke my heart.

But i noticed something. Before Ponder came he was blessed around some good QBs. He had Tebow in college, and he entered the NFL with Favre as the QB. Now that he is on another team with another good QB, maybe feels happy when on a team making a championship run. Maybe he doesnt like going through adversity.

I remember before Harvin got injured, there was a clip of him butting heads with Frazier on the sidelines. More so after he go injured there were a few sources saying that Harvin was cleared to play before the season ended but told Frazier he wasnt going to play for the team anymore. And with Harvin's history of his attitude I wouldn't be shocked if it WAS true.

My point that im making is that Im not buying that bs that Harvin didnt have problems with the Vikings. If he didnt have problems, he'd still be here right? But just because he goes to the press and says nothing was wrong people just automatically believe him right away. Harvin probably didnt think we were good enough and I cant wait to see the Seahawks fail. The Vikings are better than a lot of teams, the passing game was our weakness but now with Patterson and Jennings I guarantee we will wipe the floor with the Seahawks and any other team.

And I cant wait until we play the seahawks and Harvin touches the ball, I hope Harrison Smith knocks his helmet clean off!!!!!!!!!!!! And your man Winfield, he's going to get his too once Patterson hits a spin move on Winfield causing him to twist those old man ankles!!!!!!!!! And Sidney Rice, Xavier Rhodes will knock him back so far his dreadlocks might fly off with his helmet.

And for that overrated piece of **** Russell Wilson. If Jared Allen doesn't knock him to the ground. Sharif Floyd will pluck those Seahawk feathers of his. Because we are the better team, we dont need paper to prove that!!!! We are the best. The refs just screw with us every year. But I bet we will win a super bowl this season!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad Harvin wont be there, he'll be too busy watching from his hospital bed trying to stop those migraines he got from running into Harrison Smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ponder can throw. I dont know why people say he cant throw but he can. The guy just doesn't trust his options so he doesnt look survey the field and rather go for the quick throw. And another thing most of you dont know. Musgrave designs those types of plays. Musgrave is a get any yard you can type coach who think any yard you get is good as long as you gain something. Which is why I think Musgrave wont be here long if he doesnt mix it up.

Exactly. The early season wasn't bad at all and when he got his confidence back (after some less than professional play) we saw shimmers and shades of a really productive NFL QB. Musgrave calls the plays no doubt and Ponder's dink dunks are deadly 3rd down options with Rudolf at TE.

2 things Ponder is missing is the air of leadership and deeper attempts. If he keeps his crap (head case) together and plays like he did at the end of the season especially the second game against GB with the receivers we got now we could see a completely different looking offense.
