Comparing Ponder's wins vs. losses in 2012

Of all the Super Bowl, playoff and championship losses I've watched the Vikes suffer over the years, that one stings the least. I couldn't stand Childress, never wanted Favre and didn't believe that season that those two could ever lead the Vikes to a Super Bowl, much less a Super Bowl win. I'm really glad they're both gone. The Vikes are a lot more fun to cheer for now.

Understandable, but I was like 11 in '98 (so not as passionate) and the blowout vs. the Giants was just gross...I knew that was over from the start! This one will always hurt the most for me because I was so invested. I literally moved up to St. Paul in July and had my season ticket section 115, row 15...corner of the end zone/Vikings tunnel. I was at every game, and I stayed a few minutes late just to see all the Vikings run back in. It was just beautiful. So, I was VERY emotionally AND finanically invested. I really thought it was the year. It wasn't. It never is.

This one will sting the most...just until the next heartbreak. I'm ready

Uh oh, it looks like I need to update the Ponder apologists hand book again ... section K) When <insert excuse here> is refuted with evidence, ignore and move on lol.

A) The offensive line didn't give him time B) We have the worst receivers in NFL history C) It's Musgraves play calling D) He had no training camp as a rookie E) He's only had 26 career starts F) We're a run first team G) <insert random future hall of fame QB's name here> had similar numbers at this stage of his career too H) He's only doing what the coaches told him to do I) The defenses blitz too much J) He's a 3 year project

But I'll happily eat my crow when Ponder delivers it, but how do we actually determine if he's the one delivering and not just along for the ride xD? I mean the pro Ponder crowd considers a 91 yard, 0 TD game to be "good". I mean heck, we're not even on the same page when we define the term "good" lol. I'm just curious, if we won a game with a 46 yard 4 INT performance from Ponder would that still be considered a good game for Ponder?

I really hope Christian Ponder has an outstanding year.

Despite my love of bashing all things Ponder, I hope so too, but again, I have a feeling we don't share the same definition of of the term "outstanding" when it comes to Ponder xD. But yeah, I'm not hoping for him to fail, I don't want to go through this grooming process again. Lets all agree we should go back to stop gaps if this Ponder experiment doesn't work out. At least until AD retires.

That's almost the most absurd article I've ever read. You can almost see him squirm as he actually tried to twist the data to fit Spielmans asinine comment. I think it was more about Spielman stroking Ponders ego because anyone that seriously believes Ponder was even remotely as important as AD last year, is not only insulting AD, but they're beyond DELUSIONAL! ~30th ranked QB != MVP RB. The season went more like this, Ponder relied heavily on then MVP candidate Harvin in the first half of the season and then MVP AD carried him in the 2nd half of the season. And just because AD was on a touch count the first half of the season doesn't mean the defenses didn't have to game plan or account for him. Sheeez, the guy was still among the league leaders in rushing by mid season.

I was at the game, too--Row 4 over by CheeseFree and Diggz! Actually, I attended 4 games last year--all wins. And I had season tickets for the '09 season and--we obviously won them all. And my overall record is 16-5. I think that's pretty solid. I'm the good luck charm! Well, along with Favre probably. lol. Ooooh, PLUS...I attended the last two draft parties and look at how those turned out. Juuuust sayin'.

lol. Fair enough. I guess if you guys want to win badly enough, you'll find a way to get me there. I'll probably be attending 3 games this year, but I'm not sure how I feel about TCF, so probably only once a year those two years. And when the new stadium opens up, I'm going to have season tickets. So, 2016 and beyond...it's looking pretty darn good!

the only other season i remember as exciting as 09 was 98, and we all know how both ended. i was a long time favre basher, but something must be wrong if you didn't at least respect how the man played the game. he brought a certain energy to the field that most players simply don't have (ponder clearly). guys like cutler and ponder stand on the sidelines with those dumb smug looks instead of trying to get the team fired up. the only thing i can say was that i wished favre hadn't gone to the jets and could have had one more year here.

I think now Ponder has realized that he will have to become a leader of this team. Sometimes QBs are soft spoken during their first couple of seasons. Now with a couple of seasons under his belt. And the team now, I think is fully behind him as our QB. Now he can rally the team because now its his team

Yeah I hope so too. As the team gets younger it's only natural as well. I think now that he's been there, he has some seniority and the new guys come in knowing Ponder's the QB, it's harder to convince veteran's to believe in you when you're just starting out.
