Re: Adam Shefter says Greg Jennings is a Viking!
Maybe not, but Jennings is a better receiver. Can they have success with a true wide receiver though? He's not a big guy who's going to outjump or out fight defenders. And he's not a lightning fast guy who can burn guys. Is Ponder going to be able to find those windows and make the throw to make the most use of Jennings? We'll have to wait and see!

I agree with that. I also think he helps Ponder. While not the fastest, his route running allows him to make up for the lack of quickness with very crisp and efficient routes. Allows Ponder to anticipate his throws more willingly with confidence his receiver will have created at least some separation.

I really Jennings a lot but I wanted Welker a little more
I am wondering given any FA which player did you want the most
Jennings
Welker ?
Cruz ?
any other player and why ?
I love Welker's durability and burst...
He always seems to get first downs and has been healthy for a long time ..

Man, all im going to say is that for a LONG LONG time Greg Jennings was THE most underrated player in the entire league, the guy would have put up absolutely insane numbers had he not been surrounded by Jermicheal Paddlehands, Jordy, The amazing Randallio, Jones, etc, etc.jackal wrote:I really Jennings a lot but I wanted Welker a little more

There were stretches of time between 09-11 that he was as good as any WR in the league not named Calvin or Larry, not very excited to see him in purple.

Jennings certainly can cause some damage I will say that much. He is one of those receiver where you watch the ball get thrown to nowhere (by design) and you watched him zip from off camera right into it... I don't recall instances where people were questioning his ability to call him underrated though (don't read Packer sites though). He put too many grey hairs on my head to question his talent that's for sure.RandallioCobb18 wrote: Man, all im going to say is that for a LONG LONG time Greg Jennings was THE most underrated player in the entire league, the guy would have put up absolutely insane numbers had he not been surrounded by Jermicheal Paddlehands, Jordy, The amazing Randallio, Jones, etc, etc.

Class act. I like how he gets a grin when talking about Patterson and work, like he's eager to help him and make sure he starts his career off right (right attitude, practice habits, etc.).

Thanks for the link. I am really excited about having Jennings on the team. I think he can make a huge difference as a leader, not just as a talented player.dead_poet wrote:Class act. I may end up getting a Jennings jersey if he ends up being halfway decent. This guy can work a room.

I think our WR corps is set up to go from weakness to strength much like our OL did last year. Patterson is a wild card, but quite interesting. Simpson & Wright should both be better and if we can get typical GJ then we have a solid mix. Also, IMO, Childs might yet suprise some people. He is on his way to recovery and performing drills. Consider a WR Corps with both him at 6-3 and Patterson at 6-2. If those guys can reach their potential that is a brutal group of WR to try and defend.
