Paul Krause and Harrison Smith have little in common in their style of play.

Smith is much better pass defender than the Vikings have had at safety in years, so maybe that's the reason for the comparison. Beyond that, I doubt that Smith will approach half the number of INTs that Krause achieved in his career. Smith is a very physical safety, while Krause was the exact opposite.

I totally disagree. Smith is more physical indeed but they were/are both ball hawks and have a knack for being around the ball and making big plays. Krause intercepted a lot of wounded duck passes as a result of the constant pressure that the front four produced and yes I doubt that Smith will ever even come close to Krause's number of career interceptions. But when I watch both of them I see similar size, speed , and coverage skills. I would venture to say that Smith has many pro-bowls in front of him and has the capacity to become the Vike's best safety ever.

There is something about that era team. They were so great but were denied the ring. I wonder if Buffalo fans are as nostalgic about the Jim Kelly era.

That was great! My step dad is originally from Spring Valley Minn, obviously is the reason why each of us have a purple room in our house, including my sister. I brought him my lab top to watch those high lights, his eyes lit up was like taking a trip down memory lane. He wears an old beat up Krause jersey every Sunday during the season, one thing that I hope never changes. SKOL VIKES

I've never seen a better defensive football player than Page, which is why he's still my favorite player of all time.

Krause's instincts for intercepting passes may never be matched and you're right about those hits. Those great Vikings defenses were intimidating.
