Re: New Uniforms?
If this is the new look, then the KISS affect was in effect, not "keep it simple stupid," but "keep it simply the same." It's fine, but as Mr. sj pointed out, Nike worked quickly simply to get on to the next team. If that was the intent, Nike took its lead from the Vikes big brains; simple, classic and not too flashy, or no flash at all. Close ups of the helmets and any changes is the next gauge for excitement.

I don't care what ya'll say. These uni's are clean. Looks like they got a nice little stripe down the pants too. I'm finally buying me a high quality jersey now.
Re: New Uniforms?
Why the 2 stripes on the shoulder pads? Did Nike not want to just have an all purple uniform and just put it there for decorations?
Oh well, it is what it is. I care more about the team inside the uniform than the uniform itself. Go Vikes! Superbowl Champs this year, I can feel it!

Re: New Uniforms?
The "agenda" of both the NFL and the jersey slingers is to change the uniforms as often as they possibly can, so that fans who trip over themselves buying merchandise can spend a few hundred bucks every few years. Some team owners appear to be a lot more tradition oriented and loyal to their fans than others. You think the Steelers will be changing their uniforms any time soon?

Re: New Uniforms?
I definitely like them better than the monstrosities that were the uniforms for the past few years but I still like the throwback or the late 90's versions. Although, I can't say there are dramatic changes to the earlier versions (save the 06-12 one), which in my opinion is a good thing. I am looking forward to the 360 look and better/clearer pictures. For any naysayers, look on the bright side. They could have turned out like the Jags uniforms. Fading gold to black helmet? Puke.

I like the striped shoulders and how the pants aren't the triangle design. If the helmets are Matte I am so going to take a dook on Wilf's mailbox.
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.

Tamps Bay's uniforms are the only ones that i like toe new AND old. I wish they would do road games in the old white on white as well.NextQuestion wrote:I loved Tampa Bay's creamsicle uniforms. Patriot throwbacks that they use are also fantastic as well.
Steeler's prison uniforms are the worst.

Actually like those helmets. They are different but not Oregon different.MikethePurple wrote:I definitely like them better than the monstrosities that were the uniforms for the past few years but I still like the throwback or the late 90's versions. I think watching a wide receiver run a go route with those helmets could be seizure inducing. I can just imagine how terrible a gold to purple fading helmet with the horn would look. Thankfully it'll only be in my nightmares

I don't care if they have pink pants and purple shirts if they win the Super Bowl.
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

I also wish they brought back the shoulder stripes on the road ones like the older ones had, but it's whatever.
I like the purple pants, but I hope they're only used like twice a year, rather than full time.
Agreed... and I hope they never wear the purple pants with the purple jerseys.

You're right. Don't even mention it.Mothman wrote:Agreed... and I hope they never wear the purple pants with the purple jerseys.

Maybe we can lobby the Vikings to not use that stupid bit of flair on the numbers. There's still some time before they take the field.
I think we're stuck with the matte finish helmets, like it or not. Many players in old photos of the team appeared to have a matte finish on their helmets. But I think that was simply because the equipment manager back then didn't replace decals weekly and then spend hours waxing and polishing the helmets.
