Top 100 players of 2013: Viking players
I believe on April 27th is the premier of NFL networks top 100 players countdown. With that being said I am wondering besides the obvious players who made it (Peterson, Allen) what other Vikings might make an appearance on the list? some certainly deserve to. Also where would you put them?
My list would be as follows:
1. A.p not brainer, MVP enough said.
30-40. Jared Allen gets no love in the top 100, he constantly puts on double digit sack years but is always is underrated on the chart in my opinion.
45. Jerome Felton, Move over Leach, Felton's in town.
55. Blair Walsh, incredible rookie year, was a huge part of us winning ten games and making the playoffs.
80-100. Here is where I would like to see four of our players place being (Greenway, Kalil, Smith, Rudolph,) however I think only one two will make it at best.
Your guys thoughts? Anyone you feel deserve to make the list I might of missed?

Yes he was, however DeMarcus Ware who had less sacks was 6th. Not to mention the 2011 list Allen was ranked 80th with 11 sacks, and Julius peppers was ranked 10th with 11 too.UKViking wrote:Jared was number 13 last year wasn't he?

Maybe they don't agree on putting a kicker on the list, but how can you agree? we go 7-9 without Blair Walsh I believe.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:No way they put a kicker on the list and rightfully so.

That would happen if they made a list of the 100 most important players in the NFL. Then you would see a couple of kickers on the list. Being the best, does not make them the most important.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:No way they put a kicker on the list and rightfully so.
After all, it's not like a game has ever hinged on how well a kicker kicks the ball.

Finally a worthwhile FB admission in Felton, after his heroics during AD's all world season. Kuhn's inclusion was comical last season, almost as bad as Saturday's appearance at the Pro Bowl.

Aside from Peterson and Allen, I'm not sure if I'd put any Vikes on a top 100 list. I'd have to think about it some more. At one point, Kevin Williams would have been on there but now I'm not so sure. Greenway, Jennings, Sullivan, Kalil and Harrison Smith would all be worth discussing but once compared with players from the other 31 teams, I'm not sure any of them would or should make the cut, although I think Jennings, if he stays healthy, definitely belongs in the league's top 100.

Percy Harvin hasn't made the list ever. Matt Ryan didn't make it last year. It's a total joke.
It's all popular players much like probowl. Sullivan and Kalil should TOTALLY be on there but won't. Greenway? C'mon now. PFF has a stat out there that he gives up the most yards out of any LB vs the pass. He's not THAT good. A tackling machine? OHHHHH SCARY!
The Kicker argument stinks too because Walsh was absolutely money and made history.
Vikings: Sullivan, Kalil, Winfield, Harvin, Peterson, Allen

Pull yr 84 jerseys out.

Peterson will make it. Allen most likely. After that, I don't see anyone. Fullbacks and a kickers are unlikely. With Kalil, I don't think one season as a good offensive lineman will convince many people he's a top 100 player. Another great season and we could see him on the list in 2014.
BTW, it's NFL players themselves who vote to make up this list, isn't it? That's a tough audience to criticize for who makes it and who doesn't.

Where did AP make it last year on the list? I didn't watch. I did the year before though, and I thought he was #3 after Manning and Brady.
He better be top 3 again--or else!

If anyone never watched the top 100 before, or if you dont realize by now, there is absolutely no way AP doesn't take Number 1 this year.allday1991 wrote:I believe on April 27th is the premier of NFL networks top 100 players countdown. As was the case with A-Rod the Magnificent last year, its pretty much a foregone conclusion as to who takes the top rank.
