Re: PFT Mock Draft
Who are the 'you people'? You are the one talking as if 'team' should be more more important then the individual. Your started this line of thought. Why do you always resort to name calling? Cant you hold a conversation on a forum without this crap?
Re: PFT Mock Draft
The people that suddenly bring up socialism. Like it's crazy to expect a player to play as part of a *gasp* team. And maybe try on plays he's not the primary target on so opposing teams can't key on it? Or actually try in case his QB needs him during the play? Or not half #### his routes all the time.
Why was that #### Moss even brought up in this thread? FFS. Not only does he rot teams apart. He tears internet message boards apart!

Re: PFT Mock Draft
This seems like a miscommunication.
I don't think Demi is saying a player should take less money for the good of the team (though that does happen too ... Tom Brady just did it).
When Demi is saying "selfish" he isn't talking about money. He's saying the kind of "I play hard only when it benefits me" attitude. That kind of selfishness. A player not blocking hard for the running game because it doesn't impact his stats. A player that only gives full effort on routes if he thinks the ball has a chance to be thrown to him.
The definition of selfishness is not limited to money.
The team should be more important than the individual on the field ... the financial side is a completely different conversation.

Re: PFT Mock Draft
I don't know whos worse at mock draft PFT or the NFL network "experts" http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/mock-drafts
I can see Patterson and Banks, and also Allen and Williams.
The other two Tavon Austin and Jarvis Jones is to much of a dream come true and probably wont have a shot at either. Then Kawann short and Te'o who both could be and hopefully are second rounder's and not our firsts

The Vikings are getting Te'o at #23, I can feel it.

Re: PFT Mock Draft
Posting another Mock Draft as it looks to play out decently similar to what actually may take place.
Note to Teo lovers. The Vikings are NOT going to draft him and in all liklihood, nobody else will either in the first round.

LOL! Perhaps not but neither you or Doug Farrar could possibly know that. It's definitely no lock that Te'o will go to the Vikes or go in the first round but let's face it, none of us really know so what's the point of making such a definitive declaration?headless_norseman wrote:Posting another Mock Draft as it looks to play out decently similar to what actually may take place.

Too many swirlies around Teo and I don't think any coach is going to put his cred on the line by drafting him in the 1st when he may not end up as an every down LB.

Re: PFT Mock Draft
Given everything we know, if Spielman really does want to take Teo I could see him trading back from #25 into the first 10 picks of the 2nd round to take him. I do not see the Vikings staying at #25 and taking Teo just because it really does look like Teo's various shortcomings have dropped him out of 1st round consideration. Unless Spielman is really convinced he can't get Teo in the 2nd just by standing pat, I could see the trade-down scenario being very likely. Of course, if Teo does fall out of the 1st round I'd say it's highly likely he'll still be there when the Vikings 2nd rounder comes along and they can take him there if they still haven't taken a MLB.

There certainly is that possibility that Teo slips into the second round but it seems highly unlikely that he will last until the 23rd pick of the second round. Spielman may want to (and it would be much "cheaper") to move up in the second round to select him.

Re: PFT Mock Draft
I think it's all in how they evaluate him and plan to use him. I think he can easily be an every down 'backer in the right system.headless_norseman wrote:Too many swirlies around Teo and I don't think any coach is going to put his cred on the line by drafting him in the 1st when he may not end up as an every down LB.
Based on what? I'm seeing and hearing almost daily speculation that goes in both directions. Nobody seems to have a clue whether he'll go in R1 or R2. What we see in the rapidly changing mock drafts is pure guesswork... and I'm wouldn't be surprised if some of the mock drafters are influencing each other.VikingLord wrote:Given everything we know, if Spielman really does want to take Teo I could see him trading back from #25 into the first 10 picks of the 2nd round to take him. I'd say it's highly unlikely. He may fall out of R1 (that's obviously possible) but I fail to see how that would make a precipitous fall all the way to the Vikes pick in the latter third of R2 likely.Unless Spielman is really convinced he can't get Teo in the 2nd just by standing pat, I could see the trade-down scenario being very likely.
