Locker room cancer. A grade A little brat. Deserved every ring he's never going to have. Quit on the team repeatedly. "Play when I want to play" is right. doesn't care about anything but himself. Go to locker room before game is even over? Aw just randy being randy. Stays behind and uses press conference to heap praise on opponent? Aw just randy being randy. If I worked with a #### like him I'd punch him in his worthless face!
Good riddance and keep that garbage as far away from this team as possible.
We need more locker room cancers then. You may wanna back up slowly away from the cliff dude.
Serious talk? He's the dip #### that told this owner it was him or the coach. Yeah Zygi is really going to be able to talk to that.

Thank god you're not the GM. And our GMs keep moving these clowns out west where they can continue to not win super bowls, and rot teams from the inside out. Even the Pats didn't want that jack #### Moss back. Even when he got down on his hands and knees and begged.

Well you have to admit, he was right on "either him or the coach." I think if they had dumped Childress first Randy may have been ok. Maybe.
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

What's the point of signing him at all? At this stage of his career, the idea is little more than nostalgic. Moss doesn't have much left to offer. He has 56 catches over the past four years. He's barely an echo of the player he was in his prime. His production last year was comparable to that of Michael Jenkins, a player the vast majority of Vikings fans felt needed to be replaced. The Vikings will be much better served using that roster spot for a receiver who might actually be able to help them now and in the future. That's not Moss.
Regardless of Randy Moss' attitude, past transgressions, etc., he simply doesn't bring enough to the table to make it worthwhile for a rebuilding team like the Vikes to use a roster spot on him.
I would of rather had him for a bit under a million than Simpson for what we paid for him. Just not sold Simpson, his only good ability seems to be his ability to jump but that's also a bad thing for him because he is a super soft player and doesn't like taking hits.

And Moss isn't a super soft player that doesn't like taking hits?
Who is falling apart physically and has been for about five years.
Who has zero upside and 100% downside.
At least Simpson is relatively young, and actually tries. Watching Moss out their half assing it for the 49ers was pathetic.

I completely agree, I just thought moss might have been cheaper would have saved more cap space for Winfield who apparently is going to see the seahawks next week? I cant see their cap space being any better than ours though.

I don't think Moss has too much to offer anymore, HOWEVER, he is still a red zone threat (Uuuuh, which we need), Vikings fans love him, and I would LOVE to see him get 1,000 receptions for his career--and I'd like to see him do that as a Viking. Will it happen? Doubtful. Can I wish? Yes. It's not about Moss "being the answer"; it's simply about Moss "being a role player." Oh. And I suppose it's about some selfish, "but I love Randy" reasons, too. lol
Purplemania wrote:I still think Moss can be a decent WR. Yes, it may be mainly for nostalgia's sake, but Moss can still run and jump some- plus for whatever reason when he's on the field defenses still play him with respect to the deep ball. That alone opens up the field for AD and our slot receivers.
The Jenkin's comparison is pretty harsh. Moss even at this age is still faster and better than Jenkins, not to mention age does nothing to a receivers hands.
LOL! It may sound harsh but their production last year was similar and that was easily Moss' most productive season in the last 4 years. I don't want to make much more than that of the comparison because I really just made it provide additional perspective.
I will accept that the Vikings couldn't use Moss anymore ONLY if they actually infused the team with young promising receivers. No more Aromashado - Burton - Jenkins - crap.
I don't want to see any more of that either... which is why I wouldn't want them to sign Moss because that's exactly what he would represent: mediocre production with no real upside for the future.
I think the comparisons between moss and Michael Jenkins are bit unfair also. Although product last year was similar moss had 12 less catches for the almost the same amount of yards and scored one more td and was targeted far less. Plus when would you ever see Michael Jenkins do this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T17WtJCqtw8
