This team is on the verge of a championship with this new draft and Jennings :smilevike:

I especially loved the Audie Cole interceptions. Those were key plays to the Vikings' success in 2012.

What kind of dolt puts together a season highlight reel containing preseason plays of third string players playing other third string players?

And yeah, with this year's draft, they're really going to be something! Which was your favorite pick?

This team can do good as long as we keep the game close or blow the other team out. What I learn about this team is that they are not built to comeback from huge deficits to get the win. So we need to set the tone every game and I see us at atleast 11-5 this year. I really hope Ponder doesnt hold the offense back this season. We need some big throws from him

I hope so! There are plenty of questions remaining about this team and plenty of reasons to be encouraged too.

Thanks for the link. I know the Audie Cole plays occurred in the pre-season but back-to-back INTs for TDs by the same player are rare occurrences so I understand why they were included. It was a memorable sequence.

It's a pleasure to watch those highlights of Peterson running. I was really nervous about how he'd perform coming off a serious injury so the season he had last year was one of the most enjoyable I've ever watched.

Watching Allen in some of those highlights left me hoping this won't be his last season as a Viking. I've really enjoyed the energy and production he's brought to our defense. I want that to continue!

There were some beautiful throws by Ponder in those highlights, the kind of passes that show he really could be "the man" at QB if he can just continue improving and become a more consistent player. Hopefully, that will happen in 2013.

I liked the Harvin big plays as well. I know I'm in the minority here but I still remember what a spark plug Harvin's plays were during the early part of last season.

Of course, AD's runs are always a big delight to watch. I hold my breath every time the guy touches the ball.

I don't think you're in the minority on that, Craig. Anyone who has forgotten what a spark plug Harvin was for the team last year has an awfully short memory!

One of my favorite plays in that highlight video is a beautiful pass down the sidelines to Harvin (against the Titans). It was a terrific play.

He's just amazing. He was so good down the stretch last season that from week to week I was literally just waiting for him to break off a big run. I just expected it to happen. I was no longer even questioning IF it would happen.

I'd love to see him pick up where he left off and just keep having big games all season. :)

I think the first 4 games are going to be prove it time for the passing game. All kinds of stuff built around stopping AP from putting up 150+. I sure hope Ponder and Co. are up to reaping the rewards of such schemes, there could be a bonanza of stat lines if they are.

Thanks for the link. It was definitely a fun season.

The way this team is built and the FG kicker they have makes it easy to see them in every ball game this season. I hope they can keep finding pieces for the defense and get real nasty on that side of the ball.

Losing Harvin is tough...but I really think Wright is going to please a lot of people as time goes by.

With so many games decided on one or two plays the difference between 8 wins and the playoffs comes down to very little. With some good bounces, a little luck injury-wise and solid fundamentals/discipline they should be in the thick of at least a playoff run this year.

see you guys on draft day.....

I hope so too, although I'm not so sure the Vikes haven't been facing defenses keyed to stopping AD in every game he's played since early in his rookie season. In other words, I'm not convinced they'll be facing anything that different than what they're accustomed to facing. :) They just have to do a better job of taking advantage of those schemes.

I think we'll see teams do what GB did in the playoff game. Put 6-8 guys across the LOS to try and prevent him from getting loose. That puts the onus on the 10+ yard routes to make the defense pay, there is no third level, so if a WR is open he is probably going to the house.

Looking forward to Draft day.

Kind of curious to see what happens with all the big name CB on the market right now. My guess is some of those guys still have game in them. Somebody is going to get a steal out of this market IMO.

If teams try that, I think they'll pay for it pretty quickly and back off. Ponder may not be Rodgers but he's not Webb either. With good receivers, I think the Vikes could eat a "2 level" defense alive...

... peterson really made some defenses pay the price for basically eliminating a third level from their defense last year so I'm not sure teams will be all that eager to do it again. If anything, I expect to see a run blitzing/gap blitzing approach like Tampa Bay used against the Vikes more often than anything else. It should be interesting to see what teams choose to do... it's safe to say stopping peterson will be every defense's top priority against the Vikings.

I don't see the big buzz about Audie Cole. Outside of those 2 big INTs, he made during the preseason last year, he hasn't showed much promise at linebacker.

Is there a big buzz about Audie Cole?
