Either Jennings will help make Ponder a better QB or Ponder will make Jennings look not so great.
I don't have tons of faith in Ponder right now, with a WR or 2 in this years draft Ponder should have the weapons around him he needs, no more excuses.
GAHHH! :wallbang:

You're new here, Jeff (welcome!) so I should explain: I made a post a while back about how often people use that phrase in connection to Ponder (at one point it was more or less daily) and said that I'd like a dollar for every time people use it that way. In other words, don't take my headbangin' response above seriously.

I agree with you that it will be interesting to see how the Ponder-to-Jennings connection works this season. I imagine it might take a short while for them to establish chemistry but overall, I think they will work will together. I feel Ponder's at his best on timing plays where he can drop, set and throw and with Jennings' route-running abilities, we should see more of those plays in 2013.

Regarding Ponder and excuses: I don't think he's ever had excuses, to be honest. The inadequacies of the receiving corps and pass protection that have created problems for him were legitimate reasons for those problems and when Ponder made bad choices, bad throws or used poor mechanics, those weren't excusable in the first place. I do think there's a learning curve involved at any position and at QB more than most so I cut him slack there but that's it.

Sorry about the bringing in Ponder on a blog not intended for him, seems to be easy to have topics leak back to him since he is the supposed leader of the offense and it's kind of hard to talk about targets on the field and not have it lead back to the gun.
That's no big deal. Threads wander away from their central topic all the time. Discussions tend to take on a life of their own. :)
I sure hope they have some chemistry since the teams success will depend on that. I just hope he remembers he will have other targets on the field and won't try to force the ball to Jennings like he did with Harvin on many occasions.
I think with more quality targets we'll see less of that. Ponder was developing some chemistry with Wright late in the season and he likes throwing to Rudolph. Add another good WR to go with Jennings and Ponder should not only have plenty of targets but plenty of targets he likes throwing the ball to...

JBP loves Ponder. And when I say *loves*, I mean--dislikes very, very much. lol. Right Jeff?

I'm glad this board has more than 5 people who stick up for Ponder. These people get it! :D
