It was 26, and no, it was too expensive to buy back all the merchandise from Reebok as one is required to do upon changing a jersey number.

I like almost every version of the Vikings uniforms better than their current uniforms but I think the most recent versions prior to the change in 2006 were among the best. They looked contemporary without being over-worked with elements like the stylized horn/stripe on the pants with the norseman above it, the side panels on the jersey, etc. The current uniforms have grown on me a lot since they were introduced in '06 but I think they're a little heavy-handed.

I'm anxious to see what the new design will look like and I'm nervous about another change to the helmet. I didn't like the last one, even if it was a small tweak.

That would be neat..

I can't believe nothing has leaked about them at all. That is amazing.

Idk if this has been posted, but some of these are really nice. Some people have so much talent, it makes me sick, including Jim :P

Anything pre 2006 design is a good design. Our throwbacks from a few years ago were MINT with the white jersey number and last name lettering

Have a soft spot for the STARTER era.
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.

I'm impressed by that too. By the way, thanks for the compliment in your other post. That was nice of you!

Ugh, I hope that's not what we get. Since the Vikings just "modernized" their uniforms in 2006 and (in my opinion) overworked them, I'm hoping we see a return to something a little simpler, perhaps a uniform more like the one they had in the late '90s and early 2000s. We'll know soon enough. .At least they're not likely to have hideous neon green accents on them like the Seahawks uniforms :)
Dear God, don't tempt fate

Strongly agree, I'm glad a mutual taste is the case. It worries me every time other franchises feel the need to implement change, a sort of 'domino effect' occurs', leading to the rest of the league eventually following suit.

Seriously - if anyone thinks the Nickleback influenced jerseys we had from 2006 on were good...they are nuts.

Atlanta, Arizona, Denver, and us have suffered from these triangle striped pants and it must end for us

Reebok did an amazing job with the 1970's throwbacks IMO. I would love to see Nike do something along those lines for the Vikes. Incorporate the new logo with the 1970's look would look good. Also, the Helmet style is better when they wear the throwbacks. I like the deeper purple as well as the grey facemasks.

Doesent matter what they wear, but this last year our Unis kinda sucked. Looked like everyone was wearing an old-school neckroll.

Do you think your guys new uniforms are going to have the same purple on your helmets as on your jerseys? If i remember correctly those alternates you guys have aren't even close to matching, neither are your Reebok era unis.

Ya...not a fan of the newer unis with the lighter shade of purple. Back with the older unis and the darker purple it wasn't an issue, but now it just looks wrong. In certain kinds of light, it even looks a little too slanted towards the blue side of the spectrum. When colors are a lighter tint it's easier to see differences and mismatches. Then consider that it's being printed/painted onto different materials that have different surface properties and display color differently. I really wish they'd just go back to the old dark purple, but I doubt they will.
