It's phrased very awkwardly. I think they were saying that designer/Vikings fan was the catalyst for the re-work rather than the team but I could be wrong.
As cool as it would be in my world if it did happen, I highly doubt they would just throw that giant bomb out there all at once. I'm all for nostalgia and old school stuff don't get me wrong. I love the Vikings old throwback uni's WAY more than the new ones. But the concept ones seen on the site look ravenous. The logo too. I absolutely love them and wish it would happen.
I'd be very disappointed with such a radical (and drab) color change and at this point in their existence, I think going away from the purple they've been identified with for over 50 years would be a colossal error so you're right, I doubt they would throw that bomb out there all at once.

I wore it this year to the Titans game and plan to wear it to all future home games unless I decide to get a new authentic jersey. You are talking to a guy that wore his Randy Moss, Duante Culpepper, Darren Sharper, and first Adrian Peterson jerseys into submission.

All I was saying it is was unfortunate for me to buy a bunch of Nike jerseys this past year and now the design is changing again. I would have rather spent the money on the new uniforms if I had known they were going to change the jerseys.
Ah! I see now. I thought perhaps you were on of those purists who will only wear a jersey if it's current and if the player is still on the team. :)

If I'd know they were going to change the uniforms again, I might have held off on the AD jersey too.

If that's the new helmet up there then I have a feeling it will grow on me.

The chain-link fence helmet design is cool, but barbed wire would be better, or another menacing version of some sort. I'm in...as far as the other "concepts," I"m game! I loved the original looks as well, but I'm okay with physical change. It worked for some other Super Bowl winners, two specifically. Minnesota, that's the real change I want!

I believe it's integral to stay true to our history and incorporate heritage but unfortunately with the new Nike apparel deal and their propensity to experiment, I envision a modern overhaul similar to that of the Seahawks.

Ugh, I hope that's not what we get. Since the Vikings just "modernized" their uniforms in 2006 and (in my opinion) overworked them, I'm hoping we see a return to something a little simpler, perhaps a uniform more like the one they had in the late '90s and early 2000s. We'll know soon enough. At least they're not likely to have hideous neon green accents on them like the Seahawks uniforms. :)

It's not chain-link fence, it's chainmail. This is what they had in mind:

I'm not particularly thrilled with it, if it's the real thing. Not a fan of the metallic flake in it either. There shouldn't be a ton of fine detail on helmets or uniforms in general. Like someone else said, football unis are best when it's solid areas of color and kept simple. I have a feeling that this isn't real though, didn't some Nike employee leak something a while back about the new unis being "cool and retro"? That helmet doesn't seem very retro, unless we're talking about 1000 years ago retro :)

Again, as a reminder, anyone wanting to discus the helmet I posted needs to check out the link that was submitted too.

The chain helmet is not horrible, it has depth, it appears one could reach into it and spread the chain apart...it's cool, it's unique and it all opinion!

I am not going to lie, I prefer to always have the most up to date Vikings gear. So in a way, I am a purist. However, I will never stop wearing my Randy Moss jersey no matter what year it is!

Speaking of AD, is he still going to change his uniform number to 23?
