Re: Chris Johnson Thinks He Will Outrush Peterson in 2013
He meant rush for more than AD in the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Some history say's that might be possible, for every back that's run for 2000 yards I don't think any of them repeated it the following year, in fact most dropped down considerably. Though as we all know by know, never bet against AD!
I don't think any history applies to Peterson. The guy is just freakish. If he says he'll rush for 2500, you believe the guy!

Awesome.

Best example of this is Bret Saberhagen. Here are his won/loss records in his first eight years:Laserman wrote:Not very likely. He reminds me of Culpepper; Great year, crappy the next, then good, then crap
10 11
20 6
7 12
18 10

23 6
5 9
13 8
That defines the up and down career.

I would love to see 2,500 yards and an improved passing game. That would mean the playoffs or more likely.PacificNorseWest wrote:I don't see a problem with CJ2K saying that. If I'm a fan of Tennessee's, then I'm totally fine with it. It means nothing to the Vikings or AP.
Truth be told...It's easy to get mesmerize and fall in love with the possibility that AP can break the all-time record, or go for 2k in back to back years, but I would gladly take 1300-1600 yards and have stronger passing numbers then I would a repeat of this last year because that probably means the playoffs are less likely.
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

I saw this on Kevin Siefert's blog:
"I been did 2K"? Wow...From Johnson's Twitter feed:
"Y'all funny never compared myself 2 AP and don't need him2motivate me I motivate myself I been did 2K I'm working on my 2nd 2K. No pressure"

Whether CJ or AD or anyone else will hit their goals is another story entirely, but it's not surprising they talk about it and they see each other as rivals, as both recently put up huge rushing seasons in a league that has largely come to favor the pass.
Well you answered your own question in your post. He should have said nothing. AD didn't say he wants to out run CJ he didn't say he wants to out run Dickerson he just pointed out a goal. And there is nothing wrong with that, but to point out a specific player (currently playing in the league) is a bit childness in my opinion. Jelaous anyone?

Lets put it this way .. All Day Adrian Peterson is a worker and a warrior..
Chris Johnson is like the Selfish little prince who abused his success and sat around and wanted the NFL and the
rest of the world to kiss his ring after one very good year..

I bet he doesn't think so anymore;
Chris Johnson unhappy about Shonn Greene signing

Titans coach Mike Munchak said Tuesday he plans to use Greene in all facets of the running attack, not just as a power and goal-line back, and that he might even get some entire series to himself.

HAH! He's worried and looking over his shoulder because of Shonn Greene? That guy had like one or two good games in the playoffs and that's it, he's not a good RB. CJ2k is worried about this guy? So what does that mean?

The guy needs to put up or shut up.
One brilliant season and he thinks he's Barry Sanders. Class athletes don't need to run their mouths, they let their performances speak for themselves, exhibit A) AD (:
