Exactly. Same thing in Minnesota, our WR's would probably be better if we had a better QB, and our QB would probably be better if we had better WR's. There are few signals telling which position is helping more. Sure, our WR's have dropped a lot of passes this year, but how many of those were uncatchable?

I don't get this whole "Manning came in and made them a superbowl caliber team crap". Favre did the exact same thing in 2009, in what was a stronger division and he got very little consideration for it, and it ended up going to good ole manning.

As long as Manning is in the league, and is playing at a good level by qb standards he will get consideration because he is Manning and has this stupid public perception that he does literally everything for the team.

Disregard the injury, disregard my homerism, and look at it from an unbiased perspective. Through the lens of what player had a bigger impact for not only his team, but for the position itself you have to give it to AD.

1: Better stats in comparison to other RBs when he is the sole focus of this offense.
2: Better turnaround for his team, going from 3-13 and last in the division to second and playoff spot.
3: NFC and the NFC North are just better divisons/conferences. AFC west is a terrible division with no other teams finishing above .500 while the North had 3 teams of .500 and better.

If they were dropped, they were catchable. :)

Obviously, but what I mean is what if the ball was so far away that they had to extend their bodies to the fullest and the ball went off their fingertips? Sorry for the confusion.

2003 and 2004 awards to Manning were legit to me. Especially for his 49 touchdown season.
If the award is really the MVQB you can argue that Manning was the Most Valuable Quarterback.

2008 is when the funny business started.
4th in completions, 5th in attempts, 3rd in percentage, 6th in yards (More than 1000 fewer than the leader Brees and 500 behind Cutler and Warner), 13th in yards per attempt, 5th in touchdowns, 8th in yards per game, 12-4 record but a loss in the Wild Card round.

When Manning won the MVP in 2009 he was not the completion leader, completion percentage leader, yard leader, yards per game leader, or touchdown leader. He threw 16 interceptions, more than his competition with comparable yards, completions and touchdowns. The only relevant statistical category he led in quarterbacks with elite performances was interceptions with 16. He got the award because whatever team he plays for is the Indianapolis Peytons or the Denver Peytons.
Never mind the fact that he has usually played for brilliant pass blocking teams that only let him get sacked once a game or less.

I think the decision to give him back to back MVP awards is pretty baffling. He also lost in the Super Bowl to a quarterback who for that one 2008 head scratcher decision was statistically far and away superior to Peyton Manning, Drew Brees. Not to sound like a relentless homer for the guy, but how many 5000 yard seasons does a quarterback have to have to catch a damn break?

No worries. I understood what you meant. I just couldn't resist the joke. Sorry...

There have definitely been some catchable passes that weren't necessarily good passes.

As if you need more proof of AD's alien DNA.
Peterson's doctor: Just over 50% of NFL players with ACL tears are still in the league 2 years after surgery.
AP's doc: "We did a study. RBs are the hardest to get back, period. They don't do what he did. Nobody's ever done it."

Article shows their sports writers by a slight majority think Peterson should win it.
And Blair Walsh is the overwhelming favorite for Special Teams Player of the Year.

Adrian Peterson - RB - Vikings

Adrian Peterson credited genetics for his amazing recovery from a December 2011 ACL tear.

Not only did Peterson's ACL completely heal in eight months, but he ran for 2,097 yards on 348 carries while playing in all 16 games this season. "Look at my dad. And my mom's side, my aunts and uncles, they're all ripped. At 50 years old, they've got six packs and eight packs," Peterson said. "My body just heals differently. I know it has a lot to do with rehabilitation and work ethic -- but I really credit my genetics for my recovery as much as anything else." Fantasy owners expecting all players coming off ACL tears to burst back onto the scene like Peterson did are asking for trouble. He's a unique exception to the normal laws of medicine.

I think Blair actually made the Kicker position look somewhat attractive after last season's heroics, seeing a player step up for another over 50 yard attempt has never excited me so. As the season wore on, said situations were pretty relaxed, he's becoming automatic.

In my opinion, Blair and Zuerlein of the Rams will be the pick of the bunch in terms of Kicking, for years to come.
