I actually don't like the title of this topic, and to say he is no qb, he is no wr, he is no NFL caliber anything? How strange is that when I've read how athletic he is/was since last year. He had a bad game, and now he is a virus? Strange...

Yep. Getting thrown into the fire as a rookie with no training camp and the worst wide receivers in the league, with an O-line that gave little or no pass protection is no excuse. Then going into his second year with the same crappy WR's and little pass protection is no excuse either. And although he did really "stink" up the place in several games he did also play quite well in other games to include the 49ers and the second game, when playing for a play-off spot, against the Packers.
In his last game against the Packers he had a 120 QB rating and threw for three tds and no ints.. Now lets see, Webb playing with the same team against the same team a week later did what??? Yes it was a road game but come on You cant see a difference in QB play?

Ended? You don't just drop athletic freaks. You find roles for them. Have him train as a kick returner and/or a wide receiver. Who cares what he's done so far. He's not a good passer but what he is, is fast ,has a huge vertical, and he's not small. We don't know what issues there are as fans, but this I can tell you. He was originally drafted as WR. Now why would they draft a WR who they believed to have bad hands? It was childress being retarded. Now it's kind of like "well he's been this the whole time so lets keep him there". Nah, make him train as a wideout and switch him. Even if he isn't great he'd probably be leaps and bounds over half the wide receivers we have now anyways.

So you are blaming Ponder's poor performance over the past 2 years on our WRs, and Spielman and Fraizer for not getting any? Thats the problem we have, not Ponder?
