Re: PLAYOFFS
running the ball, managing the game, playing good defense sounds like a good formula nowadays against these pass happy teams.

Re: PLAYOFFS
As a Viking Fan I have to root against the Cowboys from making the playoffs, mainly because I hate 'em but also because the Vikes could close to within 3 playoff appearances from them all time.
I think this is before this year:
NFL PLAYOFF APPEARANCES BY SEASONS
New York Giants 31
Dallas 30
Green Bay 27
Pittsburgh 27
St. Louis 27
Minnesota 26
Chicago 25
Cleveland 24
Indianapolis 24
Philadelphia 23
San Francisco 23
Miami 22
Washington 22
Oakland 21
Tennessee 21
New England 19
Denver 18
Buffalo 17
San Diego 17
Kansas City 16
Detroit 15
New York Jets 14
Atlanta 11
Seattle 11
Cincinnati 10
Tampa Bay 10
New Orleans 9
Arizona 8
Baltimore 8
Jacksonville 6
Carolina 4
Houston 1
Probably already moved into a tie for 4th place!

Re: PLAYOFFS
IF (and thats a big IF) we can beat the Packers in Lambeau next week, we definitely have a legitimate shot at the Falcons the following week.
However, I repeat... THATS a BIG IF.

Yes, and if I remember correctly, we were huge underdogs and were being told we were one-and-done the entire week leading up to the shellacking that we laid upon the Pukers at Lambeau.PotGoblin wrote:Just remember kiddies - the Vikings are undefeated at Lambeau Field in the playoffs.

Re: PLAYOFFS
If the Skins win tonight the Vikings will have played 7 games against playoff teams during the regular season. Winning 3 of them. No other team will have played that many games against playoff teams. Atlanta has played 2, Washington, 3 Seattle and San Fran 5 and Green Bay 6. Now of course if the Skins lose, that means 6 games. But still 3 wins against 6 playoff teams is not bad. Green Bay has won 2.
So I think we have shot. It's a new season starting next week. As far as I am concerned they have just played 3 playoff games in a row.
And oh yeah, the talking heads are already saying the Vikings can't do it again.

I actually hope the Cowboys win tonight, I think we match up better to them than the Skins, if we get that far.

Re: PLAYOFFS
Yeah those records are for franchises, I edited my post so that the whole listing is there, everyone can now see how awesome the Vikes have been, put some daylight between us and Da Bears otherwise they wouldv'e tied us at 26.Valhalla wrote: St. Louis? The Rams I guess?

Me too... nothing feels better than beating the Cowpukes in the playoffs. Knocking the Pukers and the Cowpukes out in the same year would be truly epic.Raptorman wrote:I actually hope the Cowboys win tonight, I think we match up better to them than the Skins, if we get that far.
