It's really sad, QB's already win everything else, including super bowls. Peterson breaks all time rushing record, mean while Manning won't even lead the league in passing most likely.

I guess it just depends on how you're suppose to determine MVP. In a literal sense, like if all the players were up for auction Manning would fetch the highest bid? Or which player is the biggest reason his team wasn't awful?

I had three days off last week and watched a lot of NFLN and ESPN.

You guys might be surprised at how much sentiment there is for AP to be the league MVP. A lot of the talking heads say if he cracks 2,000 yards, he should win. Of course, they don't necessarily decide, but I think there's a better chance than most years.

There's also a lot of talk about co-MVP with Manning. I could actually see that happening.

Man, what if he broke a 75yarder on our opening possession next week. :borg:

I tho  :gone: ught about the Co MVP thing as well. They would both co-host SNL after that.

Even though I think Adrian deserves it on his own.

Co-mvp, co-comeback players of the year? Good business by the NFL too.

It would be good PR for the league as well, as most fans feel the QBs are already protected/bowed down to enough.

No, I think AD can average 169. He's been averaging 171 for the past 5 games.

I think its all gonna come down to him breaking a 65+ run in each game.

the rams have a good run defense for the most part as well. I think they have only allowed three runners a hundred yard games since Fisher took over..

212 and he could have had more yards in the fourth.. that's crazy

Did you see all the Rams players faces right after the first big run .. they had stopped him for losses on several runs ..
I think he was negative average in the first quarter for a while even.. and then BAM !!..

Adrian Peterson is better now because he is patient.. in the gaps and blocks ..
His first two years he wouldn't wait for the down field blocks to get set at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does not beat the 296 in the next season, if Ponder can draw the defenders back some.

It's a Quarterback league people.. even if Peterson breaks the record Manning could still get Comeback Player of the year and MVP

Is it fair , nope, but its reality

I think Manning and AD have done equally as great this year. Both are clearly two of some of the best players to ever play the game. Once Manning is retired, however, I think AD will have a great chance at MVP. I also agree with jackal that the QB is a huge part of the team, and it is said that the QB "leads" the team to victory, so that is a factor as well.

Unlikely. He can break the record by 300 yards. If the Vikings don't make the playoffs, their running back won't win the MVP.
Completely disagree!

In 1984, Dan Marino took the MVP over Eric Dickerson. But he had a season, far above any quarterback ever, to that point. So did Eric, to a point, but 2k had been reached before. Nowdays, the way the league is, no quarterback is shocking anyone, ho hum, common stuff. Although Bradys INTs, are very impressive. Adrian, is almost single handedly, carrying his team into the post season. Trust me, this is an historic run, and the voters are watching. Sure, Peyton is having a fine year, as is the previously mentioned Brady. But Adrian is doing this, with mostly putrid QB play, with teams geared to stop him.

He's the best player in the NFL this season, toast of the league, an MVP, if ive ever seen one!

If he gets 2106, I 100% guarantee, he walks with the MVP. Hell, he may have it wrapped up already.

I don't get, why it's a forgone conclusion, that if a QB wins the award, it's Manning. Why? Because he was injured? Than why wouldn't Adrian get the same love? Because, Bradys numbers are more impressive among QBs (4 INTs). I say Adrian gets MVP, over Brady, Manning gets comeback award.

The Broncos made the final four in the AFC, in 2011. The Vikings went 3-13, take Adrian away, they might be in the same boat, as 2011.

There will probably be a full video, documenting Petersons whole year, WHEN he breaks the record.

Yeah, I want to see 300 against the Texans. Two records in one game.

I'll take 0 yards against the Texans.

And 300 against the Packers at Lambeau field.
