Why don't we have a receiver who can make catches like that?

Its called Spielman. He knows receivers about as good as he knows QBs.

If you're in coverage on a play like that and you see the receiver leap, just push him out. Don't try to defend the pass. Once he's left the ground give him a heave and make sure he comes down out of bounds.

How could you possibly be critical of Spielman when we have 4 rookies contributing in a big way? And could he have predicted Childs blowing up both knees?

That just leads to first and goal from the 1 but it's better than giving up a TD.
