We are judging too much on the pre season. Im sure the 4-0 Lions preseason fans were going wow we might have a decent team this year then go 0-16. Take everything with a grain of salt.
The term fan comes from FANatic or fanatical.

English welcomed Kalil to the NFL pretty good tonight. Also Carr has been nothing but disappointing so far, I hope Robinson's tests come back negative, looks like they're going to need him.

grain of salt? look at the division we play in, there is no way we finish in any other position than last. and is it just me, or is our first round pick not looking good at all?

Sage is the best QB on this team.

Even Webb knows how to avoid the sack.

That doesnt mean that we cant improve the team? You dont just stumble upon greatness. Its going to take a couple of years. You are judging players and implanting your views off of a few games on how their whole career will play out. In the pre season. Im guessing half of the Regular pro's in the NFL dont even give a dang about the pre-season. I doubt they are out there going 100% except for guys that are trying to earn a spot on the roster.mosscarter wrote:grain of salt? look at the division we play in, there is no way we finish in any other position than last. and is it just me, or is our first round pick not looking good at all?

I think the sad truth is he's been the best QB we've had other than Favre since we got him originally.PurpleKoolaid wrote: And thats the sad truth.

to me it looked like last year all over again, ponder sacked 5 times, lousy receiving (aside from simpson they are the same crew from last year) how can there be any optimism? this so called revamped o-line looked horrible.

Doesn't Nick Foles have 2 pretty good WRs, competent OL, and a good HC calling the plays? I love his potential
GRUDEN/BARKLEY 2013!!!!!
but seriously... I checked out in the 3rd quarter. I guess the one thing we can be proud of is the fact that our D did an OK job. I know it was all 2nd stringers but didn't the 1st/2nd string combo only allow 9 points? I feel like the presence of AP on the field will help with play action passes for Ponder. Nobody fears Gerhart yet.

I don't think anyone will ever fear Gerhart, unfortunately. He's a good fullback essentially. He'll push for some yardage, but he can't blow it up like AD. That's really more a nod to AD's unique talents than a rip on Toby's.NextQuestion wrote:Doesn't Nick Foles have 2 pretty good WRs, competent OL, and a good HC calling the plays? I love his potential

This was a sad game. The Vikes looked listless and lost. Ponder's pick was really terrible IMO. I read in the strib that the play was a planned short hitch to Percy and that neither defender bothered to cover Jenkins (a decoy nearby on this play). Man... for one, it sucks that Jenkins is so bad that defenders can just disregard him and focus on our lone talent at WR. On the other hand, WTH are you thinking forcing that throw? 2 defenders could have picked it. Just brutal.
We are so hurting for WR talent. Kalil looked somewhat weak last night--to the point that I started to rethink our taking him ahead of Blackmon. We so desperately need OL help, so Kalil was the right pick IMO. But he's gotta do better than last night. Charlie Johnson was HORRIBLE last night.
