That sucks and what's most unsettling about it is that he's torn a patellar tendon before. Now that it's happened to both knees (and twice to one knee) you have to wonder if this is just something he's genetically predisposed to, something that will recur if he keeps playing.
With how rare this type of injury is, it would seem that may be the case. Very unfortunate.
Leslie Frazier also spoke this morning about Greg Childs' positive attitude w his LOOOOONG recovery ahead. It's something, but with no good leg to stand on, it's hard to imagine just how physically and emotionally taxing Childs' rehab will be.
Reading between the lines at this point, Devin Aromashodu might have the biggest chance to capitalize on Childs' injury.

Jerome Simpson not doing much of anything in team drills today. Appears we've moved on to "prepare for suspension" mode, if only for a day.

#Vikings starting offense stopped in two no huddle drives. Three and out vs starting defense. Rudolph drop contributes to stop by threes.

Every offensive unit has been brutal today. Working a lot of "big" personnel. Drops, misfires, miscommunications. Not pretty. #Vikings

Agreed. As I said in another thread, I don't mind the one year "prove it" deal for a guy like Simpson. But if he does prove that he's the real deal, the Vikings need to sign him to a bigger and better contract asap. If they don't, some other team will at the end of the season.
Simpson's never had an issue on the field. Lets see if he can keep his nose clean for another year.

Blair Walsh’s three misses on Tuesday exceeded his total for the rest of camp combined. He’s now 31-for-36 (86.1%) in team settings.

Solid 2 minute drive by starting offense capped by a 25-yard TD from Ponder to Harvin against Smith on fourth down. Harvin jacked up.

I dropped in on training camp in Mankato yesterday. It was fun to watch Christian Ponder work with the offense. It seemed like dog days of summer, kind of a slow tempo from my amateur perspective.
@TomPelissero: Jordan Todman (ankle) won't play on Friday night. Josh Robinson (hamstring) won't either unless he's 100% tomorrow (which seems unlikely).
@TomPelissero: Frazier said doctors did not find any further damage behind the patellar tendons during Greg Childs' surgery. That's a positive. #Vikings
