Actually a meeting this afternoon at 1pm, about funding options. Dont have a link, but read the racino option might have gained some traction. Im sure some news of the meeting will be out later today.

Not exactly sure what you're referring to.

So now Minneapolis offers 300mil. Jared Allens "gut" tells him the issue wont be resolved, while it doesnt mean much, Im sure he is more in tune than the typical person, I dont view it as a good sign.

My gut tells me the Vikings are dead set on Ramsay County and unwilling to compromise. And the legislature is dead set on not waiving the referendum on Ramsay County's proposed sales tax increase, effectively killing Ramsay County's bid. So Jared Allen's gut is on target.

New regime, new stadium?

Would the firing of the current coaching staff help in any way with the stadium issue?

And would landing a big name coach also help?
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Nope. It's obvious people want to get this done right now...they just don't know how.

No impact. It's a pissing match between Ramsay County and Minneapolis with legislators playing favorites.

The Vikings will be under immense pressure to get a deal in Minneapolis if that is the best option. At this point, I don't think the Vikings have too much say as to WHERE the stadium is built, especially if the funding is there.

No at all. Its politics, 100%. However, IMO, its worth a try

There seems to have been some encouraging funding options thrown out there on Tuesday, but at this point, it seems the Wilfs and the Vikings are committed to Arden Hills and the lawmakers will make that impossible as they prefer Minneapolis. IMO, the Wilfs need to get the LA group involved to push the states hand or they'll stall forever. Either the state wants the Vikings or they dont, make them make their decision and quit playing politics.

Why does it have to Minneapolis? Last time I checked, it was the MINNESOTA Vikings, not the Minneapolis VIkings. Eventually, something has to give, and I fear it won't be the politicians...

Because the politicians in Minneapolis FINALLY realized that their city would lose the Vikes, so they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for that to happen...

Didn't see this posted in here ... it's on the front page of NFL.com today;

Vikings exec says U.S. city other than L.A. has contacted team
Bagley, the team's vice president of stadium development and public affairs, revealed that the Vikings had a second suitor during a Tuesday hearing at the state Capitol, where two state Senate panels focused on funding possibilities and whether or not to help publicly fund a new stadium.

Bagley wasn't pressed by legislators during the hearing to elaborate on his claim, and he afterward declined to identify the city that had called the Vikings.

"We would let that city speak for themselves," said Bagley, who added the city had approached the team over the past year. "I don't think it's our place to say who it is."

I really have a feel that no matter how many cards the Vikings play, the politicians will ultimate end up with the royal flush... Just saying, things really don't look much better in crunch time as opposed to back in July.
